Famous french singer, Edith Piaf. Live recital at Holland, 1962.
La Foule.
Considered the best singer the France gave to the world, Edith Piaf was born Edith Giovanna Gassion on December 19, 1915 in Paris, France. She died on either October 10 or October 11, 1963 (one year after this recital) in Cannes, France. Edith Piaf
stood at only 4'8". Her musical abilities took her out of the streets and placed at the top of the musical world at the time.

you are watching the miracle of music here. both in her performance and in what performing did for her. She is one year from death, very ill, and suffering the most terrible pain from rheumatoid arthritis. it was particularly painful in her wrists and ankles. Agonzing pain to stand and walk. She described the pain as if she were on fire. Most people in her state of health would have been in a wheelchair. But she was transformed going onto the stage. The pain left until the music stopped

Even though her health had deteriorated by now, her presence is as intense as it ever was. And no one could could phrase a line like Piaf stretching and squeezing the melody without ever loosing the flow of it - sublime!

The way her arms move within the last few moments of this song, it’s almost ghostly. The way the lighting and her black dress separates her hands from her neck and up. WHEW beautiful film and achingly beautiful song.

The Story of This Song A well-known radio station in New York City was asking about the origin and provenance of the song that had just been recorded as a duo, the great José Feliciano and the "Guerita consentida" of Mexico, Alicia Villareal. It seems that the announcer of the same was wrong and announced the song as "Amor de mis Amores". However, the true title of this waltz, which was recorded in December 1953 by the famous Edith Piaff when she visited Argentina, is: "Que Nadie Sepa mi Sufrir". The surprising thing is that this song is named as a "Peruvian" waltz, but its composers, both music and lyrics are of Argentine nationality. Apparently, the authors respected the musical structure of the "Creole waltz". In 1911 the guitarist, composer and singer ANGEL CABRAL was born in Buenos Aires, whose real name was Angel Amato. He was part of the trio "Palacios, Riverol, Cabral". Author of: "Su nombre era Margot", "El Clavelito", "Plegaria", "Son Mentiras de José" and the Peruvian waltz "Que Nadie Sepa mi Sufrir".

I used to hear to La Vie en Rose and Padam Padam when I was a kid when my mom and dad plays their music and I loved it. I wasn't aware who the singer was. Until I met my girlfriend last 2009. She used to tell me stories about the great singer Edith Piaf. And she hummed La Vie en Rose then suddenly I had flashback of my past. I told her I know that song. It was a great discovery. From thereof I just love Edith Piaf and really appreciate her music. Such a great and legendary singer.

The first time I went to Paris, my very first stop was Pere Lachaise. Madame Piaf's was the very first one I visited & took flowers. I have loved her since I was a child & sadly, I can still remember the day I heard that she left us. I was six years old.

I’m Chinese and I watched the movie “dogman” recently, which gave me the opportunity to get to know about her. I really enjoy listening to her songs or French Chanson. Sometimes I am fed up with some very “famous” pop songs on social media platforms and in short videos. When I’m listening to hers, I could always think of the old beautiful times when people really cared about art and philosophy.
