One of my favourite song by The Cure ever. I don’t know if I prefer this one or the one with lyrics, but I would probably say this one. This one just cuts into you and you feel the emotion so well. If I were to ever have a theme song this is exactly what I imagine it would sound like. Raw, full of emotion and moving while being beautiful and peaceful at the same time. Simple incredible.

@johnnio994 жыл бұрын
Disintegration was their last great album, Bloodflowers was good, the rest after Disintegration were patchy at best...
@henkmeerdink20882 жыл бұрын
I agree, and disagree... Disintegration was the culmination of The Cure until 1998, and might have been the end of The Cure, after a short, but very intense journey. As it is, The Cure went on, and after a rudderless journey the futility of trying to be something you're not, was laid bare in Bloodflowers. We await the much talked about new album, which is supposed to be a return to The Cure's roots, and which should make the trilogy into a quartet....

A superbly written piece of music. It takes you to recounted moments, reflections and dramas. Certainly does all the talking. It tears at the heart and seems to allude to episodes perhaps in one’s life that are challenging or adversities faced but which have been successfully conquered. There is tension and relief and the music I feel echoes these emotions. Just some thoughts.

Why do we always have to categorize things. The cure is beyond categorization. They aren't goth, they aren't anything ! They are simply extremely talented musicians, in my personal opinion. The Cure have been my favourite band since 82. I’ve never thought of them as a Goth band. They’re a pop band really. Even on Pornography ( my favourite album of all time ) it’s really rooted in pop. Ok One Hundred Years is quite heavy but there’s still a tune you will hum forever.

The big hand makes all of your favorite things Like all your dreams go small And all your friends run away Until your memories fail And the words don't fit But the way the big hand smiles You just won't care about it The big hand makes all of your favorite things Like all your days run out And all your hopes disappear And your smiles just stop And your eyes go dead And the shadows start to crawl In the back of your head But when the big hand speaks It's like fireworks and heaven So you listen Don't think And wish for nothing at all And when the big hand sings It's like fireworks and friends Leaving alone I'm not Leaving alone Leaving alone I'll never Leave alone again So when the big hand holds up all your favorite things And with a touch like glass Starts to squeeze You don't ask "Why me?" You just slip to the floor Just slip to your knees But when the big hand speaks It's like fireworks and heaven So you listen Don't think And wish for nothing at all And when the big hand sings It's like fireworks and friends Leaving alone I'm not Leaving alone Never leaving alone Leaving alone I'm not Leaving alone Leaving alone I'm not leaving alone again
