The really big pack of Basset Hounds, that is active in France. Records show that the true Bassets (with big endurance, enough body substance, strong bone and visibly loose skin yet enough of ground clearance) are able to follow the trail effortless. Many of them are fit for function and fit for puropose, able to move over difficult terrian the whole day.
Clip made during promotion of the wild boar hunt performed for members of Basset Hound Club du France and their guests on 27th April 2019.

Love the sound of a good pack of hounds on a track. I've got buddies here in Ontario, Canada that run Coyotes and Deer with walker and Bluetic hounds and it's always a fun time

NICE - you're a "serial BH owner" then! I only have a Beagle, but he's for sure instilled the love for scent hounds in us, so, the Basset is on our list for our future puppy :-)

happy to see such many BH! here in Japan, still BH number is limited, although my current one is 3rd generation in my family. will continue to promote BH locally on private basis (^^)

OH. MY. GAWD. HOUNDS ! I'm saving this for when I need a smile or a good belly laugh ! I would LOVE to be in the midst of those boneheads ! That put a much needed smile on this mug for certain-made me think of my Dad-he would definitely approve as well !

The long whip is ONLY used as an extension of the arm to help correct the direction, and the crack is intended to get the hounds attention. It is NEVER to be used on the hound. I have been pack hunting with hounds for nearly 50 years. Hounds will shut down if abused. You can see how they love what they are doing.

For crying out loud. No, they don't whip the dogs. It's used to direct them. I'm sure you prefer they be allowed to run into dangerous areas, like busy roads.
