Despite the dangerous tides seen in the film around these islands which are halfway between Jersey and France my dad later took Naomi and I back there in our canoe and we landed on some of the more desolate islands.

Was taken on a trip here with my family on Dave Langdon's boat in the late 70s. My beautiful long lost childhood.

This is excellent and the music too. Alphonse , God rest his soul was there for 14 years and left sometime in the 70's to go back. I would dearly love to visit this and the Minquiers and maybe Iles Chausey too

I was at the erchous last year. There’s McDonald’s subway and greggs there now

Thanks for the comment. Guessing at my age in the video I would say this was about 1972 give or take a year. I had a few other day trips there in the 70s but we moved from Jersey in 1977 so that was it! How much damaged happened in 2008?

What an amazing place Poor alphonse had a horrible period in his life - and felt isolation was the only option
