Former LSU star cornerback Jalen Collins recalls the time he declared early for the NFL draft and how Les Miles was not supportive of the decision despite having a FIRST ROUND GRADE -- and Jalen suspects Miles and LSU is behind certain media leaks prior to the draft in an attempt to sabotage his draft grade -- ultimately causing him to fall to the 2nd round. I had a similar issue coming out of a juco. the coach told me in person with no witnesses he was going to essentially going to sabotage me to a school that was going to bring me and my family in on an official visit. after our conversation where he told me that they didn’t return a single phone call. He thought I faked a wrist injury that turned out to be broken the whole season (I was a starting olineman). He also lied to me about allowing me to change my position told me that I couldn’t when it was too late to transfer at the beginning of camp and honestly there’s so much more examples with that guy…. It’s a dirty world out there, but you can’t let something like that stop you from being successful.

Its crazy because a gm or coach might be able to accept that from a kid coming out of college but when its a headline teams have to take into account how the fans and their peers will receive it. Thats messed up. You would think if anything coaches want to maximize on producing pro players out of their system. Thats why i respect coach cal at kentucky because win or lose he has the best interest of the player and there dreams

LES was feeling butt 🤕 that he didn't stay another season. That's just pathetic! He should've been proud & happy for the young man, pursuing his NFL DREAMS. What a hater. I'm glad you brought this to everyone's attention. It's just SAD. SAD,SAD, 😭. Now everyone can finally see the kind of person LES MILES really is. Safe to say the same players that played for him, feel somewhat differently about him, after hearing this. Sounds like he never truly cared about his players in the same way he portrayed himself. Thank GOD, FOR BRIAN KELLY. A good coach, but more importantly, a good person. HE WOULD NEVER DO THAT, TO ONE OF HIS PLAYERS. GOOD LUCK with all future endeavors, JALEN. YOU ALWYS WERE & ALWAYS WILL BE A GREAT LSU TIGER! I DON'T CARE WHAT THAT FRAUD OF A HEAD COACH HAS TO SAY ABOUT YOU.

Don't put it past and NFL team slipping ESPN a few grand here and there to run these type of stories. The point is to scare other NFL teams. When that happens Jalen's value decreases. It's a good investment from the NFL's perspective. The article was so unethical ESPN did not have the balls to even publish the reporters name. When this gest published with no reporter taking responsibility the entire article is suspect and is obviously designed as a hit piece. It wouldn't surprise me if ESPN's "sources" are just made up.

He was damn lucky to get drafted as high as he did given that his stats show he should have been a 4th round pick at best. Props to him though... He had some years to make NFL money and that's way more than 99.9% of football players get. Jalen Collins got drafted in the 2nd round... He was a top selection even though people (who know nothing about the topic) think that anything after the first round is some sort of sloppy seconds type of pick. He played for a Superbowl level Falcons team and had every chance to prove himself. He had a typical NFL career... keep in mind the average NFL career is something less than 5 years, but I'm not sure of the exact stat. He got picked up by other teams too and had a chance for a fresh start if he felt like he needed one. That being explained... wtf is he talking about. Is he suggesting his draft stock was hurt by Les Miles or that he had something to do with his NFL performance/career? Obviously, JC wasn't a first-round caliber player and plenty would argue he wasn't a second-round level player either. He got drafter in a higher spot than he should have and his stats show that. I realize that you want to be a first-rounder no matter what you're capable of given that it means more money up front, but he should not be bitter at all. Props to him though, seriously... anyone that gets drafted and then makes an NFL team and then makes it back after their rookie year is a stud. People truly don't comprehend how tough it is to make it in the NFL even as a backup or whatever besides a starter. You have to defy serious odds to have a career like Collins did.

Because you went on to the NFL and were suspended four times because of drugs. You had the opportunity to get another contract after the rookie deal but failed due to PED and drug use. Young man you don't know how the real world works. If you work for anybody then leave to pursue another opportunity. They always contact your past affiliations to find out what kind of person they are getting in you. Do you think that Les Miles was supposed to lie for you when asked about your pros and cons. You made those decisions knowing that you had dreams of playing in the NFL one day. He had an obligation not just to you, but also to the other guys coming after you to be truthful and honest. Then you get drafted anyway after being a risk, then you turn around and get suspended multiple times in the NFL. Sorry to tell you but that screams unreliability, and shows that you haven't changed your bad habits. You are an adult now and all of your actions has consequences. After College you had run out of room to make any more mistakes, you are your worst enemy. Stop blaming Les Miles and go find a mirror if you want to know who is at fault.

You don’t get it at all.. he interviewed with potential employers and admitted to what happened which was provided to them from LSU. Les Miles going to ESPN to publish this story to the public knowing it would hurt his stock was wrong. That would be like your previous employer having your local newspaper publish something you did for the public to see. Yes they should discuss with potential future employers that inquire. No they should not have it published to the public I played college football and know a lot of guys who have played in the nfl or still currently play and there are a ton of guys who get drafted who failed one drug test while in college. It is not normal for it to come out in an ESPN article. Very typical for it to be discussed in the interview process like it was. They want to see if you’re going to lie or not more than anything. It’s very common.

You are the one who doesn't seem to get it, stop trying to justify a repetitive screwup. And in my profession they don't discuss what I do in the media. They do not commonly talk about this in the media in this profession either. Les Miles intentionally reported it to ESPN to try to hurt his career way after the failed drug test happened. Do you understand how many of these 18-22 year old young men fail a drug test during their college tenure? It would be on the news every single week if it was reported on just by the shear numbers.

Is Les Miles the reason you kept failing drug tests in the NFL? Is Miles the reason you got booted from the XFL? Your Daddy should have taught you to own your mistakes.

Les miles never was a good coach. Won that national championship with nick saban's players. And once they left that's when lsu started to go down hill. Miles hasn't done anything before nor after he won that championship with saban's players. FACTS.
