Le musicographe François Porcile commente et remet en perspective ce document rare.
Cet épisode est une collaboration de la RAVEL EDITION, de la Fondation Maurice Ravel et du Festival/Académie Maurice Ravel.

was the chief mourner at Ravel's funeral his brother? The gentleman seems distraught and there is some facial similarlty.

Yes, it 's his brother Edouard. Ravel, who had grown tired of Montfort L'Amaury had his room in his brother's house. His burial in Levallois Perret testifies of his desire to remain close to his brother.
