The people over at Firefly sent me their improved FFLPS guitar to check out. Since the last time I tried one, they added stainless steel frets (wow!). Let's check it out.

Hello, firstly, I love your videos and your way of teaching. I wanted to suggest (since we have the same musical tastes) a few solos for your upcoming videos: "You're in Trouble" (Ratt), "Wanted Man" (Ratt), "It's not Love" (Dokken), "Hungry" (White Lion), "Little Fighter" (White Lion), all the solos and riffs by Akira Takasaki in "Thunder in the East", "Get it On" (Kingdom Come), "The Ultimate Sin" (Ozzy), "Secret Loser" (Ozzy), "Master of Puppets" (Metallica), "One" (Metallica), "Alone in the Dark" (Testament), "Disciples of the Watch" (Testament), "Lady Red Light" (Great White), "Who Wants to be Lonely" (Kiss), "King of the Mountain" (Kiss), "Tears are Falling" (Kiss), and "Last Time" (Badlands). I got the firefly lizard burst LP a few years ago and it has a nice chunky neck, more like a 58 - 59 LP, the new ones seems to have more of a 60s slim tapered neck, I changed out the pickups for a set of epiphone 57 classic pickups, if you get a good set they sound awesome, but are inconsistent and are subject to being fakes, the sticker on top of the pickups are real, but if they don't have the epiphone stamp on the back they are fakes, I was disappointed with epi probuckers,they don't have the growl the epi 57 classics have,cool channel, new sub.

Nice demo - my main issue with these (various brand) cheap entry level guitars is the fret sprout issues. It’s pretty ubiquitous and is a deal breaker in most cases. Granted, even some high end guitars have this problem. How did you find the frets?

Mine is fine no fret issues at all. Had it for 4 months.

Yeah Dave, the new FFLPS sounds slightly cleaner and crisper. FireFly has come a long way from their first models. The double neck SG they have now blows me away!!! Nice job on the demo !👍Bob

They both sound great but I'd say the old model is slightly muddier. It's pretty subtle so I doubt I'd be able to hear it in a mix and I could probably EQ it out if I could anyway. Nice playing for on the demo my man!

Yeah, it's very nominal... but I could feel it while playing, if that makes sense.

@@KR-mh3lm I prefer the old pickups as they have a more open sound, with a little bit of pleasing grit and bite. There is not much difference otherwise though.
