How do we diffrentiate in exam whether to use pronoms relatifs simples or composes?

@electroheatsui If there is a preposition in the second part of the sentence then it is compose and if there is no preposition then it is simple(qui, que, ou, dont)

but if there is de preposition then dont to be used? am i right? also de with lequel is always used in a combined form right (like autour de etc)
