When my dad worked in Mauritius he was the project manager/surveyor on the construction of the bulk sugar terminal. Lovely to see it in use

This is my childhood place. There was also an old bakery just 50 metres from that restaurant. I lived there skipping school like Tom Sawyer and playing all the time until I was 18 years old. Was there before they started the bulk sugar terminal. It used to be rocky and could not swim there.but a great place especially the garden with the huge Lenin head. We were so scared when we saw it for the first time. There is also a cinnamon tree. Just missing those days . I love my country🇲🇺.

Nice video. We used to live not far away and yet never visited that garden. Crazy. My father is buried at the West Cemetery. This brings back childhood memories. There is something special about a rainy cloudy day in Mauritius. Very nostalgic.

The garden is a surprising place, but too close to other interesting thinks, so often overlooked. Glad we could bring back some memories

@@BryanDiscoversWorld Les Salines means something like salt pans. There used to make salt there by diverting sea water into these walled in "pans" like those in Black River. Are they gone now?

@@artyfhartie2269 they are in the area that the coast guard has restricted, so I'm not sure what condition they are in.

My family has a big tombstone/vault at that cemetery which can fit like 10 people I think. My grand parents are buried there.
