One should never have to wait 8 hours to vote. That’s what mail in voting is for. I can vote by mail and skip the wait for myself. AND by not standing in line, I make the line shorter for those that like to vote in person.

Although that should never be a thing because the only reason a person would wait 8 hours is because a politician intentionally cut polling places to make people give up and not vote. Also why they would be against giving water and food to people in line after standing there for hours. Ideally, mail in voting would be a mandatory option for all states. There is no reason why ANY registered voter shouldn't receive an easy way to cast their vote.

I once went to a polling place that was at a local church. The church took up ~1 city block. There was a double line, around the church, of people waiting to go in to vote. When I saw that, I had such a sense of pride that I announced, "I don't care who you came here to vote for as POTUS, I'm just totally thrilled that all of you are here. Thank you", & then I gave them a round of applause. There had to be somewhere between 100-200 people lined up to vote. How Extraordinary!
