Obviously the focus of this is on the incredible musical capability, but can we all just acknowledge for a second how good of a story teller that woman is? Two people take care of him and love him and YOU GIVE CREDIT TO THE GOD THAT GAVE HIM THE DISABILITIES? BECAUSE HE CAN PLAY THE PIANO? Total selectivism. One anomalous person with a severe dysfunction of the brain that bears unbelievable side effects...that somehow translates into God has a plan for everyone? I don't recall that proud proclamation during the numerous funerals of still born babies, new borns with terminal illness or diseases/disabilities that make life unlivable "I'm sorry, your son has a rare condition and was born with no legs and a chunk of his brain missing that will limit his cognitive abilities massively during his, what is likely to be a, short life" Because if God had a plan for that guy too, he'd a little bit of a cunt, and you can't hate the word, God made the guy that made it, we, and all of our thoughts and actions, are derivative of that sadistic magician.

This Woman and Leslie came to my grade school(St. Anthony's) in Pewaukee, WI for a performance. I think they came each year when I was in 5th and 6th grade. Even back then, I remember it being quite remarkable. It's funny how I just stumbled across this clip all these years later.

Amazing. Truly. This is the sort of thing that brings a tear to my eye, when the impossible SOMEHOW happens. I can't even fathom the amazement his foster mom must have felt when she woke up to him playing that. It's completely insane.

31 yrs later, it’s still a great story.

I remember watching this when it first aired. I’m 68 years old. Music is undervalued.
