I am disgusted by her release. She has steadfastly manipulated people to get out. She was initially given the death penalty. She admitted that she enjoyed stabbing poor Mrs. Labianca while Mrs. Labianca cried and called out for her husband who was already dead. Drugs are no excuse for her disgusting behavior. She does not deserve another chance. I am sickened by her release.

I never thought I would see the day she got out except through death. This happened years before I was even thought of and I have read about the Manson Family for a long time and in my opinion, I don't think she should have been released. So true. What gets me is the way her and those other 2 girls acted after they slayed all of those people. It wasn't like it was temporary insanity or anything like that. She was proud and happy that she did that. They were signing and smiling with no thought, fear or remorse. Those videos of her reaction after getting caught showed more of her character than what she even did when she killed those poor people. Why give the death penalty to anyone if your not going to give it to her. She is a monster that should have died a long time ago.

And what about Sharon Tate's husband Roman Polanski? He had sex with a 13 year old and then skipped the country to keep from being prosecuted. In my opinion, a Child Molester is just as bad. That butcher is going to be nothing but trouble for the state of California. I mean, the property values anywhere in the vicinity will nosedive wherever the Manson fanatic settles down, and the 911 operators will be forever besieged with nothing but panic calls. For example, can you just imagine: "I can't even take my children out to play with that woman around!" or "I can't sleep nights with that killer loose in the neighborhood!" Well, California can have that one as Michigan doesn't want her.

@@sherri60806 Carried away? No, not at all. Trust me, whatever neighborhood that this Jackie the Ripper resides, those people in that vicinity are not only going to be in full panic mode, but they'll find themselves stuck between a rock and a hard place. I mean, those poor souls wouldn't even have the option of selling their homes at any price with that Manson nutcase nearby. I think this is exactly the scenario that we're looking at, and why the Californians have a huge problem on their hands.

@@sherri60806 No, Van Houten was not the only Manson fanatic who was freed. Actually, , Lynette (Squeaky) Fromme was released some years ago, but her crime was merely the attempted assassination of former President Ford in 1975. You know, there is a huge difference between an attempted murder, and the savage butchery of an innocent family couple.

It's quite simple. Did the poor tortured victims get a second chance? It warms my heart that this savage got these degrees for free while so many out there cannot afford that luxury. They're going to set her up teaching her how to use a cell phone. atm, etc. Perhaps take a homeless person off the street who didn't savagely murder a woman claiming it felt like an orgasm and help them out. Impress me by giving Leno and Rosemary's life back as well but they can't do that. Pull the pain from their children/family had to live with imagining how much their parents suffered that night at the hands of these savages. It amazes me how many privilege's these monsters got in prison and how messed up the corrupted justice system is.

Who paid for her Bachelors and Masters degrees? I'm not impressed that she got degrees. What else did she have to do in prison? I know people working full time jobs trying to pay for college in order to get a degree, so they're studying and working. And the same people knowing that a Masters degree is financially out of reach. I know people who owe $100K in student loan debt they'll be paying off the rest of their lives. No biggie that this woman managed to get 2 degrees in her 53 years in prison that were paid for by the taxpayers. I am against the death penalty, but not life in prison. For what she did she should have remained in prison. She was able to do constructive things there and to even rehabilitate, but that doesn't mean she should have been allowed to leave.

Ironic and infuriating....I heard she took college courses while in prison? On the government's dime? I can't help but think back on the fourteen years it took ME to pay back my student loans. (Gosh, maybe I shoulda held up a bank) My hunch is that given the real world she will be coming back into.....and the adjustments she's going to have to make at her age? Finally...the huge steamer trunk of her own horrific history? She won't last too long on the outside...

Everyone has a choice to do the right thing.. To live well and look out for others. So, to go out and commit these despicable murders, with or without being under the influence of drink/drugs, they knew what they were doing. Age is irrelevant.. Still old enough to know it was wrong. Poor victims who never got to see the light of day again.. Our planet is riddled with dishonest and brutal people, living among us. Sad state of affairs.

The big question that should have come from the review board is; If someone came into your compound to stab one of your members to death, would you let them go free? 'Well...Charlie thinks that they're reablitated and wants to let them go'. I think that he would have mangled them to bits. I think that the victims family wants to do the same to her.

I'm kinda conflicted about this. When she did her horrible crime she was a 19 year old kid now she's a 73 year old woman! I'm 67 and a totally different person in every way than I was when I was 19 ! I can tell you from my experience that people can and do Change. The person they just released is not the person they locked up 50 plus years ago I don't know about punishment, judgement, or justice! I'm not wise enough or arrogant enough to think I know the truth about such things. When we listen to our better Angels we realize that Mercy is always critically important! I don't know if it's right or wrong to let her go? I'll leave that to a higher power! But I don't have a problem with this I wish her well

I've personally known a woman like that one before, and I'm still baffled as to how she ever beat the murder rap. Anyways, luckily for the community , they had her committed to an asylum. Believe me, these types of people are as unstable and unpredictable as hell, and should never be exposed to the public. All I can tell you is that the last thing you would want to do is to turn your back on those people.

Sharon Tate's baby deserves his 53 years. This isn't about revenge you do a heinous crime and you say you're a model prisoner then you do your time. I can think of an example the Son of Sam aka David Berkowitz. He has stated he's hurt too many people he doesn't attend his parole meetings. My cousin murdered someone do I have the right to tell that victims family it's been 30 years let it go. Hell no I also had a male cousin who just turned 30 years old and he was murdered while being robbed and miss out of holding his 3rd baby because his wife was pregnant with their daughter. No prison doesn't make up for the victims but to protect society from deviants.

This crime spanned decades and touched people who weren't even alive when it happened. I knew who Charles Manson and the rest of them were before I knew anything about Sharon Tate, or any of the other victims. How sad is that?? I'm 45 and had no choice but to know the term "Tate-Labianca" before knowing about the victims at all, and who they really were. Just straight disrespect to decent humanity to let this person go free.
