I’m learning this for school, and it blew my mind bro.

Technically, when you try to lift the mass of the truck, you are actually also lifting the mass the earth, so to speak, because it is the mass of the earth that gives the truck its its relative weight. However, change the center of gravity, or the distribution of the weight to move with the mass of the earth and the truck becomes as light as a feather.

I have a question. What do we measure when we use a weight scale? it is weight right? so then why is the unit in kg instead of NEWTONS? I mean is it like it first measures the weight then divides it by the gravity and then gives the output?

What is the difference between metric and SI system?

Mass has the same units as weight yet they are different? I weigh 90kg so I should be able to divide by gravity and get mass.(9.226) The math doesn't work out. Ok wait. I just had an idea. If I were floating in space were there were no gravity fields except me and 1kg ball (earth weight) and threw the ball the ratio of how much the ball and I separate is and indirect measure of mass. No matter how hard I threw the ball the ratio of divergence would be the same. This number has no units because it is a ratio. The Kg ball was just used to establish a comparison point.

If I was on a planet with a weak gravity making a car weigh 50 lbs, could I pick it up or no since the mass/inertia has not changed?

Another reason why people use weight and mass same is. We life or we are in planet earth and gravity is same everywhere in earth. And we don't know difference b/w them. But when we go into moon or outside our planet we realise difference b/w mass and weight. B/c gravity is weaker in moon. Is that true?
