Subroto, as you see in the video, my edges do not harden. Try to observe carefully and see how I avoid hard edges. Edges occur when we take too much time to move the color from dark to light.

Thank you Master Stan. Your drawing is brillant, and your explaination is very clear. The only thing I want to remark is that when painting women, espectly young girl, always pay attention on her lips. My wife spends hundreds $ for buying lips stick to make her lips more red, but in your paintings, you make those less red as they should be. For a man it is not important, but for a women, it is really important.

I love your videos as I think that they are very informative. I wanted to ask when you layer your colors do you repeat the colors used in the initial layers but in a slightly darker value each time?

Since you do it slowly over time, how do you manage the hardening of the edges as they dry, especially in the areas of the face? Or do you keep the edges very soft for rework later? Thanks, your tutorials are really helpful.

First of all thank you so much for your series on watercolor, I have a question: is it better to do less washes or build up layers? Because when I do two layers colors comes out nice but the drawing so flat, as I go build up layer it goes one boring color ☹️

What's best to use, pans or tubes?! Got both here, only just got into it really. Did a sketch yesterday but overworked it. Take a while to understand the way it works I think. I'm just glad to be using a physical medium again though.

Stan... you always say “red, yellow and blue”. Doesn’t it matter if it is a violet red or an orange red? Or a violet blue or a green blue? Those different combinations will have a different outcome.

It's beautiful painting... Only her faint lips (as compared to reference lip which has beautiful pinkish colour) kept bugging me. But superb painting nonetheless 👌
