Wow! This is amazing! When I was young, I took two quarters of Biblical Hebrew study in school. That was decades ago and I have forgotten most of it since I did not stick with it. This is really a useful body of work you have produced Ayelet. I especially appreciate hearing the correct pronunciation. Now, I will have to search my attic to see if I can find the box where my Hebrew grammar book is stored.😃

Maybe I've missed something, but I notice you capitalize some syllables which I believe you are indicating pronunciation emphasis on that syllable. Have you mentioned this in a prior lesson? If not, will you make a video on the rules for syllable emphasis?

In what cases will the Kamatz not be pronounce as “o” when followed by a shva?

There are several cases this can happen, but to understand them all, we’ll have to dig deep into Hebrew grammar.

Great video! I have a question (sorry, I can't type vowels): In the word חכמה , why is מה pronounced MA and not MAH? Is there a rule about ה at the end?

Thank you! There is really no difference from my perspective. The sound of ה is like a very short exhalation. We don't emphasize it, unless it has a vowel. When you say "MA" you are already ending the sound with a subtle exhalation. I hope that helps.

Hello, thank you very much for these videos, they are a blessing for me, I have a question, sometimes kamats can sound as O(oo) even if they aren't followed by shva? I was reading the psalm 121 and I noticed that it said mikol, but it was written with kamats so I would think it was pronounced as mikal but it wasn't. I saw the same thing happening with the word ishmor. I hope you can understand what I mean , if you don't please let me know. thank you and God bless you

in timeline 3:12 does this rule apply only to a Kamats? If there is instead a Patach under the letter Chet it will be pronounced chach/mah and not choch/mah?
