This is good. In other Hebrew courses, you may have people teaching who are non-native speakers of the language. I like the way this is taught and that it is from a native speaker.

ערב טוב. Can you explain when to use Qamets versus Qamets Hatuf
@TheWORDinHEBREW
@TheWORDinHEBREW 10 ай бұрын
Why? Are you trying to add vowels in yourself? There too many rules for that, so just go with the way it is in the text. When you see either one, just know that they are pronounced the same. But in general, you will use khataf Patach with guttural or silent letters א, ה, ח, ע, ר since these cannot receive a shva 😉
@jasonmenegio116
@jasonmenegio116 10 ай бұрын
Going back to the Special Rules, you mentioned that a Kamets followed by a Shva makes an ‘O’ sound and the Shva will be silent. I’m thinking that this is what I was preciously referring to. As in Kho-kh/MA.
@TheWORDinHEBREW
@TheWORDinHEBREW 10 ай бұрын
Yes, MOST of the time it will be pronounced as an 'O' sound in that case, but there are exceptions too. :-)

I have learned the Hebrew name for Jesus was Yehoshua = salvation from YHVH = (יהושע)(יְהוֹשֻׁעַ) . The name Yeshua meant he is saved, is that correct? Or what do you say Yeshua means?
@beandavid3651

When or how would you distinguish Elohym as a name (proper noun) and Elohym as gods (plural noun)? I have asked Rabbis and Biblical scholars who did the creating in Genesis 1:1 and they don't know, refuse to answer, change the subject or lie and say it was Elokim (changing the Hey to a quof). When a person cannot say what is written and do the aforementioned it makes the person dishonest and not a scholar but a liar and a deceiver that can't give factual information.
@TheWORDinHEBREW
@TheWORDinHEBREW Жыл бұрын
Good question! First of all, it will depend on the context. Second, in Hebrew, when Elohim is used as a proper noun, it is typically followed or preceded by a singular verb, the number ONE or a singular pronoun. When it is used as a plural noun, it is followed or preceded by a plural verb, number or pronoun. Also, typically when it's about other gods, it will typically say in Hebrew "Elohim ah/kheh/REE-M", meaning OTHER gods. The other thing to keep in mind, is that the word "Elohim" in Hebrew is in the plural form (ee-m ending), which can be used in reference to plural gods, OR to mean that Elohim is ONE GOD as in a COMPOUND or CUMULATIVE ONE (Like a nation has many people, or like water can also be in the form of ice or vapor. I did a short video on the word some time ago that might add some more insight: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y6qfYJWY2tKulZs.html I hope this helps and GOD bless :-)

@@TheWORDinHEBREW Per what you stated, Elohym in Genesis Chapter has at least 30 acts done in Their name, with a singular verb attributed to Them and meaning that Elohym is a proper noun. Simple linguistics would then apply the name Elohym in Gen 1:1 as the Creator. So, why does everyone deny this fact?
@beandavid3651
@beandavid3651 Жыл бұрын
@@TheWORDinHEBREW Thanks for listening to me. Why do I bring it up? Why would Elohym have Moses write down this specific information and then have humans lie and cover up the information? What I presented are actual verses with the information there, Genesis 1:1, 1:2, 1:27, 2:4.
@TheWORDinHEBREW
@TheWORDinHEBREW Жыл бұрын
"Elohim" in Hebrew simply means "God" (or "gods"). In Genesis, when it has a singular verb attribute with no other name of another men-made "god", it is in reference to יהוה, Elohim, as the creator GOD. You must look at the context and language carefully to distinguish it.
@TheWORDinHEBREW
@TheWORDinHEBREW Жыл бұрын
God (Elohim the creator) does not "make" humans do anything! Humans were gifted with free will which is the reason for everything humans do. All the verse references you listed has Elohim with singular verbs, as they are all about God the Creator.
