The biggest mistake beginners make is to put ALL possible numbers in an empty cell. See lesson 4. I repeat in this lesson the 2 cell hint, which can be used for all puzzles to begin with.
Get into the habit of looking for ramifications every time you solve a new number.

I'm sure you're a person who takes a maximum of about 20-30 minutes to solve the toughest ever sudokus. But you're also a person who has great patience to teach it slow and control yourself from speedily solving it

I have been trying to improve my very poor skills at sudoku for ages. After watching just a few lessons from the Sudoku guy , I have become so much more interested in the game and think I will improve . I love this teacher. He’s so entertaining!

I suggest you purchase any book by Will Shortz. You will find them in good book stores and Amazon Will Shortz books have one puzzle per page which is better and less messy. If you have an ipad a good app is Enjoy Sudoku. I see you are learning the rule of exclusion. Watch tutorial 2 for a better video on this topic.

Thanks for these lessons! I am doing advanced puzzles, but am enjoying a refresher and learning some valuable tips & hints that I didn't have before. Do any of your future lessons cover the "swordfish"? I've seen that in my advanced puzzles and I have no clue what to do!

+Ozefan Hello Ozefan, Yes I do cover the swordfish in lesson 23. It is quite difficult to spot as it can appear both horizontally and vertically. Glad to know you are learning new techniques. The more you know the easier it is to solve. If you are now at lesson 6 there are many more tricks in future lessons to learn. Have fun. If you go to my channel by clicking on my name at the bottom left hand side of the video it will take you where you will find ALL of my videos and tutorials. If you subscribe you will be notified when I upload a monthly tutorial which is based on the lessons.

The ramifications of this is, I’m now addicted to sudoku!! But on a serious note; -When do U end a ramification run & move onto the next number? I seem to just keep going around the board until ramification does not make a direct reveal. I’ve noticed in these tutorials, that a lot of ramification runs end early after only a couple of reveals.

Hi Orlando Ramifications are very important. Every time you add another big number look for ramifications. Sometimes you can solve many numbers with this simple rule. today i did a puzzle and after solving a number (7) I went right around the puzzle and solved 7 in every block. Sudoku Guy has again, fantastically, solved the lesson number 5 in his own inimitable boom, boom, boom style playing with a conundrum of numbers by going one up on them each time and stealing the show. As a result, I am going more and more hooked on these puzzling puzzles, but grappling with them still unsuccessfully.

I just wanted to say that you are an amazing teacher. I would always solve a puzzle without using any technique if that makes any sense at all. My times were always all over the map. So far I've learned some basic theory and about matching numbers and how important they can be. From watching 5 of your videos, I was able to get my times cut in half. You are very sharp, calm, and patient. Thank you very much for these lessons, sir. I will watch them all

Hi, thank you so much for your videos i have learned a lot from them. Just a quick question. At 5:35, how come you only put small 2s in block 4 cells 3 and 5, and didn't put any small 2s in block 7 cells 3 and 9?

You could have considered the 2 and the 6 left in the central box for _so_ long. It should have been pencilled in as a pair as soon as those were the only two numbers left in that box. I’d have to rewatch the video to determine when exactly you could have solved said pair, but the fact that you never even marked it is an oversight. Btw, even though I _know_ this stuff, watching these lessons has been a good refresher.

At 1:09 you said," You will explain it later" i.e. why is that the rule of exclusion says that there will be no other 4s in that particular ROW except those 2 cells? (Why can't a 4 be there in the 2nd or 3rd horizontal block in first row?) Please answer, thanks!

If I undesrtand you correctly, you cannot have another 4 because there is already a 4 in the first and second row. You cannot repeat a number in a row column or block. The reason there are 2 possibilities of a 4 in the 3rd row is due to the rule TMB (See lesson 1).

Hi Robin, you explained the 5s in the rows 1;2 and 3 as well as the 5s in rows 7;8 and 9 well, but the 2 in column T3 at 5min 42sec. is impossible becaus of the completely filled center column C in box 7, right??

Acutally the 2 can only in cell 5 block 4. If it went in c3 block there is no room for it in bl 7 middle row LCR

So far I like the procedures of 'Horizontal' and 'Vertical' with matching pairs. You have convinced me that sound procedures are the best way to solve these puzzles.

Some eazy puzzles say they are easy yet they are not. Sometimes just one technique that you don't know or look for, or spot, can mean the difference between solving to the end of the puzzle or not. For the rule of exclusion I suggest you look at tutorial #2. Master the easy ones first. Keep trying you can do it .Please do not become discouraged.
