I am from Kerala. I am learning Urdu for better understanding of language and to improve Hindi knowledge. I came across several Urdu classes but I am very much impressed with your teaching method and writing method. Now I am able to read Urdu very well. Your alphabet is very vivid.

Thank you Sir for the wonderful explanation, I know all of the Urdu alphabets as an Arab it's easy for me but ,would you tell me how to distinguish between ر and ڑ in sounds , I know that ڑ is more stressed in pronunciation , but still don't know how to write them in some words according to their sounds. Regards
@EDUCATIONPYRAMIDUAE
@EDUCATIONPYRAMIDUAE 9 жыл бұрын
You are right, ( ڑ ) is more stressed. There are some word which need such stress like Pahaar ( پہاڑ) mountain. To say ( ر) we simple say 'ray' sound, whereas for ( ڑ) we will start with small sound of 'a' like 'aRay' to generate stress and some bend on the edge of the tongue. Thx

With the word bakri, I see that you draw "r" downward, and then "i" above this. Is this purely a font and stylistic choice, or can you write the glyphs in more of a horizontal fashion? Thankyou for your tutorials. I'm the 10001th subscriber :)
@samamafahim6666
@samamafahim6666 7 жыл бұрын
The "Nastaliq Typeface" has different styles. One of them mostly used in old Urdu books would usually have the last "detached" letter of a word written above the second last letter, at the end of a line or somewhere in the middle. In some cases, the whole word would be written above the last letter of the word before. In this "old" style, there is much less consistency of forms as compared to the modern one; you would see the same letter written slightly differently across the same line of a text. Moreover, the more the density of words per line, the more these detached letters could be written above the second last letter. The modern style has what you call the 'horizontal fashion' and is totally consistent. Handwriting is more like the "old" style that is you may write the detached letters in both ways. Compare here: tinypic.com/r/jrwh2v/9

Masooma ali Syeda Language learning is not a good idea when we link it with time. It is life long process. The important is to have progress after each day/week / month. Complete the available lessons and repeat it again after some short gap. During learning apply it on your own work for which you are learning the language. When you will apply learning on your own work you will be motivated and can work hard that will take you to the next stage. Find someone around you who can encourage you in this mission.

The letter (و) is employed for only the following vowel sounds: 1. (औ) - {au} as roughly 'a' in 'walk'. Example: چوکھٹ (ch-au-kh-a-t - चौखट - چ-و-کھ-ٹ). 2. (ओ) - {o} as roughly 'o' in 'more'. Example: بول (b-o-l - बोल - ب-و-ل) and خرگوش (kh-a-r-g-o-sh - खरगोश - خ-ر-گ-و-ش). 3. (ऊ) - {oo} as roughly 'oo' in 'shoot'. Example: بھوت (bh-oo-t - भूत - بھ-و-ت). The word 'huqqa' has the short vowel {u} - (उ) between 'h' and 'q' which is represented by a pesh (_ُ), so we would write 'huqqa' as (حُقہ). Whenever you're not sure which of the three is the right one, you may use this dictionary: rekhta.org/urdudictionary for the correct pronunciation of (و). Note: You cannot always use (و) if you feel the vowel sound is {au}. For example, you may pronounce the word (بہت) as 'bauhaut' or 'bauhat', but the standard spelling is (بہت - बहुत), that is there is no (و) between (ب - b) and (ہ - h). According to the spelling (बहुत), the word should be pronounced 'bahut', and some people do pronounce it that way. However, the pronunciations 'bauhaut' and 'bauhat' are also correct. The same goes for the word (محبت); it has pronunciations 'mauhaubbat' and 'mauhabbat', but there is no (و) between (م - m) and (ح - h).

Phew!!! I dunno I should say this here but I am kinda stupid fellow who unlearned his own native language kinda.... Now when I am getting into these various language things I am kinda getting enlightened about my native language... Devnagri is so simple yet so powerful a script that I took for granted all these years that I myself kinda unlearned it over these years. I mean u really can write most languages... I dunno if all ...in it as they authentically they pronounced in their own script without any even lil error or confusion ...more even if they kinda lil complicated in original language writing sometimes. I mean like in English u jus cant write Hindi or Korean or Urdu or whatever languages words or sentences in it. U jus cant writes those language words or sentences so clearly in it. There bound to be conflicts that u can only resolve by understanding what is it suppose to be written there. I mean I am Rana and I jus cant write Rana in it ....my own surname in it... its Ra-na here which I certainly am not. In reality its kinda undna thing in last syllable. :) But u can easily write English or Korean or Urdu or even Russian in Hindi as exactly as they are pronounced in their own languages without fault. Anybody hindi knower can spell it back as it was in the original form in that language from that without even knowing that language. That certainly was very stupid of me....One thing globs try tell me since childhood I know but I dint cared. :( I think I should try learn back hindi too now. :( I mean I kinda gone bad with its as far as the writing part is concerned. Even reading no problem.... talking certainly is not. I mean kinda never used it for too many years to read write it. So for even a simple application things I do fault on some words. I mean writing. If not fault toh I mean not that comfortable. I mean I dont have to learn it... but occasionally try read/write some material now & then in that... thats all.
