This obviously assuming no mixing of ambient air with pure O2 right? How would you factor in a mixing ratio?

I'm on an LTV 1150 ventilator. Mode Assist/control Volume Control. PEEP 10 Respiratory Rate: 25 VT: 500 I-Time 0.7 O2 L/Min from a Concentrator 5 L/min What's my estimated FiO2? I tried to get an analyzer but my DME is filled with people who don't care about my knowlege of my FiO2. They don't care that I don't want know even though I have severe respiratory and neurological conditions.

Hi Peter! From the details you gave me, it looks like you're receiving 40% FiO2. I just looked at your channel and I find your contents amazing! All the best to you!

whats the difference between FiO2 and FO2, and how can I find FO2?

They're practically the same. It's usually indicated in the machine you're using. Otherwise, you have to compute for it using this formula.

Thank you for your videos. You do well in explaining in layman's terms especially to non-medical persons like me. I need your comment on my recent purchase of some 1-7L oxygen concentrators. The flow rate at 1LPM is 90%=-3%. At 2LPM is 65%=-3%. With an oxygen analyzer, the LED displays 93 to 94% with decimal points. Is this machine good? Can I use it for mild to moderate hypoxia? I am not sick. I just would like to have 1 for emergency cases. Hospitals are in full capacity these days and I thought that it could help while waiting for a bed to be available. Should I buy a 5L machine that has 95-% to 96%=- flow rates from 1-5LPM? Is this for mild to moderate? Thank you.

Hello! Sorry for responding late. We don't normally use O2 concentrators for emergency cases because they can only deliver a limited supply of O2. Typically, people who are severely ill requires more than 5L. For your question regarding mild to moderate hypoxia: I suppose it will suffice for the time being considering hospitals are full. As long as the concentrator can supply your breathing demands, then definitely it's doing its job. Cheers
