Jesus grew up in Nazareth and returned there at the beginning of His ministry to teach in the synagogue. When He read a Messianic passage from the book of Isaiah and then said that it applied to Himself, the people were “filled with wrath” and tried to kill Him. Why was their reaction so violent to what Jesus had said? Pastor Gary unpacks the story today and shares three points that we can learn for our lives today from the reaction and response of the people.

I pray that this will soon be over for all those who are fighting against this evil and the devil who is fighting against the power of the Lord Jesus Christ and his followers. We will not give up on our faith and our souls because we know that the Lord will be with us forever ♾️ and forever in the future as he is with us all now and forever ♾️.

Thank you for proclaiming the truth of the gospel! I have listened to many of your sermons and they have helped me a lot! I teach a senior adult women’s Sunday School class and the lessons have come from the book of Luke. Your expository preaching helped me have a better understanding of scripture so I can share it with my class! Thank you!!

No! The Chosen series about the life of Jesus is NOT the series to see or support. Why? The Gospel and Jesus' life is being distorted and the Bible scripture is being rewritten. This is something Mormons do with our Holy Bible because they are taught not to trust the Bible like we trust it. This because they are taught by elders in their church since it is written by men for over 1700 years it, our Holy Bible, cannot be trusted. We however are taught to TRUST our Holy Bible because it IS God breathed through His Holy Spirit, See 2 Timothy 3:16-17. False Doctrine permeates that series, The Chosen. The passage in Isaiah you just read in your message today, about Jesus reading it letting the people know He is their Messiah, is totally devalued in The Chosen. When I saw it, at that point I stopped watching the series. This was early into the series when it first came out. After this point, it became known that Dallas Jinkens, the director and producer, was both rewriting the Bible's version of Jesus' life and was filming with Mormons, allowing their influence on the series. Check it out if you don't believe this. We have GOT to be more careful now days. 'A little leaven leavens the whole lump', so says Scripture. We must get God's word right ALL the time and not allow anyone to alter it in any way, no excuses. Dallas Jinkens made excuses in an effort to minimize the negative publishing. We should not allow this series to enter into our churches or be blessed in any way. We must stay pure to God's word. I am very disappointed to hear Pastor Gary Hamrick support The Chosen. I may not listen to him any more. Can what he says now be trusted, in such a time as this? A lot of false doctrine is being allowed into the church today by pastors just like this. Please, Pastor Hamrick, do not allow this into your teaching too.😮😢

Just reread what I have written here about The Chosen. I stand by every word. I am also getting a clearer view of Pastor Gary Hamrick's (Cornerstone Chapel) teachings too. Just my opinion, Hamrick is getting too prideful and sure of himself in his teachings. This as he gains popularity. Some of what he is teaching is good but I see error slowly seeping into his messages. It is subtle so question some of what he says until the wonderful Holy Spirit grabs hold of him and turns him around. This is my prayer for Gary Hamrick. I have decided not to watch him any more either. I feel bad about Hamrick as he is from my home church, Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, CA, Pastor Chuck Smith's church. Chuck Smith is the founder of Calvary Chapel ministries and church plants Nation and worldwide. Love Pastor Chuck Smith. A true follower of Jesus Christ our Savior.

Although I do agree with you about the show "The Chosen" and I personally don't care for the show, I have to run all things through the Bible. One, remember that there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. This sermon is 2 yrs old and when The Chosen came out, I was all about the show. Since then, it has become a little shady. So, let's take that into consideration. Two, God works in mysterious ways, All things work for the good for those who love God. I know many people who have had a wonderful change in their life due to the show and have turned to the Bible and forgiveness in Jesus. I don't want you to think I'm attacking, I truly speak from a place of love. We must be gentle, loving and kind in all rebukes. Your issue would be better received through a more private method. Making a public statement against a very good preacher who obviously loves the Lord and dedicates his life to service isn't the way the Bible teaches us to go about the Lord' business ❤ Hope your day is amazing and your life is full of His grace and mercy❤

I would use concernment on watching The Chosen. Research beloved, before you watch.

The Chosen is not Jesus of the Bible. This is a Mormon based show and Jenkins said himself 95% of what’s in the show is not in the Bible. It is not okay to rewrite the Bible in what “could have” taken place just to add narrative. Please do your own research into this show.

Pastor G, I love your teachings, but chosen isn't really something I want to watch. I'll stick to bible and longing to see Jesus one day when he comes for his bride the church 😊❤
