Lessons from the life of Prahalad Maharaj
1. Our acharyas have said, “harer nama harer nama”. With chanting the conviction comes that if anything (pressure, anxiety etc) happens in my life, then chanting will give me the shelter which nothing in this world can give me.
2. I will compromise everything but not the taste of Holy Name. I have received it with great difficulty.
3. Check your own consciousness. Ask your family members if there is any change in your consciousness
4. LCM asked Ramananda Raya - What is the greatest difficulty for a devotee? Ans - Lack of association of devotees.
5. We are sitting in the association of so many devotees in zoom. There is no greater luxury.
6. When Krishna is pleased with a devotee, He doesn’t give me wealth, position etc, He gives him the association of sincere devotees. And if he takes that association seriously, his spiritual life goes deep.
7. We should have nothing else other than KC between devotees. The satisfaction in such exchanges can’t be found anywhere else.
8. Longest purports are there in the Seventh Canto in which Narasimhadev description comes. It is the longest Canto after 10th Canto and SP has given maximum energy in this canto after 10th Canto.
9. We sing Narasimha arati after mangal arati to remind ourselves that the problems will definitely come in life and we will have to take shelter of Narasimhadev like Prahalad Maharaj.
10. Narasimhadev could have killed him just by cutting his head. But He was so angry because His devotee was offended that he took out his intestines.
11. We should understand why Narasimhadev was so pleased with Prahalad Maharaj.
Why Narasimhadev was pleased with Prahalad
1. Trust broken - A child takes full shelter of parents. When a child understands that his parents want to kill him, what would be his consciousness. When we trust someone and he breaks our trust, it is unbearable. Ex - People killing chickens. Ex - killing goat on bakri id after raising it.
2. Helpless - All the ministers and soldiers of Hiranyakasipu had only one goal - to kill Prahalad.
3. No association - Prahalad had no association. He was struggling alone.
4. No grudge - Prahalad did not show any grudge or envy against all those who tried to kill him. We may forgive but can’t get that grudge out of our heart. It disturbs our japa. This shows how weak is our KC.
5. Desired welfare of those who were against him - The only boon he asked was the liberation of his father. Check your own consciousness as you are advancing - you start letting go. Prahalad only saw the positive that his father loved him, he didn’t see anything negative.
6. No pride - Only he could pacify Narasimhadev but didn’t become proud. He said that he is a demon and it is difficult for him to do KC.
7. Compassion - Wanted to stay in this world and come to spiritual world after sending everyone to spiritual world. Same consciousness of Vasudev Dutt, LCM cried seeing his consciousness. SP was also so compassionate that’s why he go to much mercy.
8. Everyone in this world is going to face difficulties. We will not get difficulties like Prahalad Maharaj. We have to learn to take shelter, otherwise we have not understood KC in reality.
9. We have to take shelter - Ex - Har ki Pauri Hardwar. An elephant gets carried away but a fish is happy in a current of water.
10. Why Krishna sends difficulty. Why doesn’t He take us back directly. The sincerity has to be tested. Gold is tested in fire.
