I leave the cap off of my BRS slim jug to help evaporate the waste water. I also put a nano tank sized filter sock in my sump and placed my sample line inside the sock. No problems with clogs/micro-bubbles. Use can use a sock, filter bag, etc and mount in your sump with a clip, magnet, etc. This would probably work well for placing a salinity probe also.

I found it much easier to disassemble the unit and clean the reaction chamber with some alcohol and a Q-tip! Agreed needle guides are a must, not sure why Neptune didn’t think of them. Also ABC reagents are a great alternative to official Neptune reagents at a fraction of the cost.

I bought a Trident new in October of 2022. Didn't unpack and use it until end of December 2022. It was consistently off by 1dkh lower on Alk than the Hanna. So that was ok, just so I had a correct range no big deal. Then, about 4 months in, it went haywire. Alk, Cal, Mag readings were all way off. Cal would say 322 and Hanna was saying 465. I went through 2 months of Neptune support and I did clean the testing vial about 3 months in. Support was turtle slow. I keep my equipment in like new condition always as I'm a stickler for that stuff. They sent me what they said was a new Trident. It came with broken pieces in the shipping box, plenty of extra cat hairs to use 😂, and was beat up. I told them that wasn't going to work and they finally shipped me a wrapped brand new Trident. I sit here contemplating about whether to open it and use it or sell it. I have 2 of the DOS doses and 2 of the DDS containers that are brand new that I haven't been able to use because of issues. I'll probably bite the bullet and try again as if I can keep it working, it's well worth the money. Look at the Alkalinity testers that test that one parameter. They're 800, 1200, etc. There isn't a lot of options for a tester that does all 3. I would love to have one that does Alk, PO4, and NO3. Cal and Mag don't change that often and I have all the Hanna testers. Thanks for the video on this and I guess I'll get to install the new one today.

Hey champ, have a look into a power factor corrected power supply to replace all the power bricks. Not only will a larger coil driven transformer give you far better conversion efficiency, it will also drastically reduce the charge/cost for the load as these style of power bricks cause you to be be charged for electricity you are not actually using. We are probably talking anywhere from a 30% to 60% saving in power consumption charged.

Is there a way to swap out the lines for ones more sturdier or thicker? Maybe just the waste line ? Could you maybe upload a maintenance video on the trident system please ? Or do you have a link for one?

Has anyone tested the calibration solutions? It’s not what the bottles claim it is.

After calibration test having problems reading alk proper my hanna says 9.1 but trident say 8.45 then goes down to 7.9 next day

The best way I have found to take care of the trident is throw it in the garbage. Had mine less than 6 months and wouldn’t add reagent. After talking with them decided not to throw good money after bad and broke the Hanna’s out. Save the $600 and dip your finger in and taste the aquarium water, just as good.

The trident is junk imo.
