@@meesmaalt Ray “ turn away from sin and God who can not lie, he promised to give you a new heart with new desires. The ability to love what’s good and hate what’s bad.” It’s important to understand what he says says. - Ray “ there is a difference between being a sinner and living in sin” We’re ALL sinners but we DON’T all live in sin. @@meesmaalt I do think modern evangelical Christianity and particularly the more 'reformed' branches have loaded "repentance" with meaning that it was never supposed to have, and that's where the contention is. To repent means essentially to change one's position on something, or to orient oneself in a new direction ideologically. By repenting, we turn from basing our life in sin, to putting our foundation or faith in Jesus. This will obviously include a sense in which our opinion of our sin changes. If we aren't sorry for our sin, why would we even put our trust in Jesus? But that does NOT mean we must stop sinning to come to God. That is something God can help us with once we place our trust in Him. The idea that repentence means being sorry AND stopping, simply isin't biblical. There is a dangerous conflation of 'attitude which is in keeping with our salvation', with a prerequisite to that salvation. We have to repent for salvation in the sense that we must turn from our rebellion, to accept God's free offer of salvation. We are then called to live in a way that is fitting in the light of the love we have been shown. This will include attempting to live in a way that is more pleasing to God, but that is not something we have to do to receive salvation.

@Ka Pow Sinning is a conscious decision we as humans make. To enter the kingdom of God, you must be born again, believe in Jesus, and repent of your sins. John Chapter 3 explains this in greater detail. It is only through the blood of Jesus that we are saved. That's not to say those of us who are saved can't sin, we choose to or not (we always have a choice). However, we are instructed to immediately repent of our inequities and turn from our ways and walk in the footsteps of Jesus. The idea is to live a life as close as possible to Jesus to walk the path to heaven. When we are born again, we acquire the holy spirit, who is our guide. We can either choose to follow the guide and make it to our destination or go the complete opposite way and wind up in hell. The choice is ours.

@Ka Pow You don't understand, we don't stop sinning, through the flesh but with our minds we turn from sin instead of yielding to it; Romans 6:16 King James Version 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? When we repent we no longer yield to sin, we are no longer servants to sin but servants to Christ. Sin leads us to do as we please, leading to death but Christ leads us to do the will of our Father in Heaven that leads to life ever lasting! Ray is right, we can not be hypocrites and serve God and sin, don't confess your sins and then continue in them.

To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. 21 To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law. 22 To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some.

@Epal Repent literally means 'to change ones mind.' Greek word for repent. - μετανοέω - Transliteration: metanoeo Hebrew word for repent. - נָחַם Transliteration: nacham Outline of Biblical Usage: to be sorry, console oneself, repent, regret, comfort, be comforted. If repent means turning from sin, how and why did God repent? In Jonah 3:10 So youre saying i have to repent for every single one of my sins to go to heaven? That means no one is going, for all have sinned and fall short of Gods glory. God alone paid the price for your sins, and you are sealed by the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8‭-‬9 There is only one work God requires you to be saved and that is believe. Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. John 6:28‭-‬29 Dont you think this is the perfect opportunity for God to us what works we shall do? He doesnt say, do this or do that, dont do that, he just says believe. Believe means to fully put your trust in God. Not your own works. If you go to a muslim, or a mormon, and ask how do I get saved, they'll tell you the same thing, 'Repent of all your sins and do good.' If you sin today (everyone sins daily) does that mean you are not saved anymore? Are you saved today and tomorrow you're unsaved? Is it a constant cycle up and down? JESUS CHRIST DID THE HARD WORK ON THE CROSS! We have the easy part! To believe on Him! Dont steal from Gods glory! Salvation belongs to the Lord! It is a gift of God! Am i saying we should continue in our sins once we believe? GOD FORBID 1. What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2. God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Romans 6:1‭-‬2 Typical works salvation argument: "Well that means people can live however they want, like a licence to sin." 5. And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: 6.For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 7. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? 8.But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. Hebrews 12:5‭-‬8

@@pj8uch 147 verses about repentance or commanding us to repent in the KJV New Testament and in every one the context is repentance of sin. This is not about arguing semantics of the false doctrine of works based salvation. It doesn't mean you literally never sin again to maintain salvation. It means you stop being a slave to sin, stop practicing sin, stop willfully sinning without remorse because you have a new heart and a new conscience of the Holy Spirit. Saying anything to the contrary is disingenuous, against the Word of God, and truly heretical. To share the Gospel and lead others to Jesus as we are commanded by our Lord--repentance of sin, death of the old self, being born again, surrender of our will to God's will are all necessary for salvation. It's not something we do therefore it's not works but what we don't do! It's surrender, humility, conceding victory to God, and submission to His will. If you have the real Holy Spirit (and not a counterfeit holy spirit/religious pride demon) then ask God to search your heart and convict you of any error and repent of any revealed transgression. See Psalm 139 Repent: "change your mind/heart" about what YOU did in rebellion against God, i.e. repentance of sin. Literally no other biblical definition. The only reason we see a few instances of God "repenting" is using it by the literal Greek definition "to change one's mind" because we are anthropomorphizing God with human terms and limited by the Hebrew and Greek vocabulary at the time. A more accurate human word would be "relented" because God changed his mind about punishing humans due to their repentance after being warned.
@pj8uch
@pj8uch 2 жыл бұрын
@@tannerfrancisco8759 I agree with mostly what you have said and that we should turn from sin. Those who are truly born again, will be receive chastisement from our Father if they do sin, as per Hebrews 12. You stated and I quote "--repentance of sin, death to the old self, being born again, surrender of our will to God’s will are all necessary for salvation." My question to you is, how many sins do I need to turn from to receive salvation? A) Big sins? B) Small sins? C) All sins? But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. 1 John 1:7‭-‬10

Praise God!!! He easily could direct people to the finished redemptive work on the cross after he shows them their sins. I'm sure Ray is saved and he's probably lead people to Christ so I judge no one. Have a blessed day.🤗✝️☝💗 Personally I think that preacher is a little dramatic.

@@kayjohnson4062 First of all, english isn't my native speaking, so I apologize for the way I sound when writing. If you want to teach, please do it correctly, do not lead astray innocent people! You have to understand that in the hebrew language, the mind is not just the notion of mind that we have in the western side. It is the body, the soul, the strength, everything that composes someone. Whats the biggest commandment in the Bible ? Love your God with all your soul, mind and strength. When you sin, you don't love God. Metanoia isn't just a change of mind, it means literaly to turn from, make a u-turn from sins. It means to mourn over, to grief, to change the direction. Please study more extensively before writing publicly something that is not true. I still respect and love you as a brother shall do. I'll pray for you.

@@petitcitron2852 I do not stand corrected. I know that a change of mind means to change your mind yes, but change from what? From your own path of destruction ( pharisees and religion) to the path of Jesus Christ. Believing in His redemption because He rose from the dead and is alive today. If your witness isn't about Him, His glory, and His gospel which already covers everyone's sin, through faith by grace, than people will continue to think they have to "do" something more than believe for forgiveness of their sin. NO! It's not what you do, it's what He "did". Change your mind, Believe and trust in His path. Do a 180° and recieve Him! So therefore I have not lead anyone incorrectly and BTW, it sounds like your English suddenly got better when you started condemning me. 🙂🙏✝️

Christ became our potpitiation because even when we turn from our old ways we still are sinners and will be until we shed our flesh! That's why we needed our Saviour, because He knew we couldn't save ourselves in our carnal state. @@kayjohnson4062 Repent is therefore from sins! They are so many verses that explicitely say so! I do not say and never will say that is something I or people can do by themselves. It's the work of Christ and the conviction of the Holy Spirit. But, the meaning of metanoia is clearly about turning away from sins, not just a change of mind. You wrote and I quote : "But not for sin! Metanoia ( repentance) means a change of mind or a change of belief, not sin." Thats the part you got wrong and I'm just here to correct yourself about it. Nothing else, nothing more. It's like realising you are doing wrong, grieve and mourn about it, and run in the opposite direction. About you second comment. Yes, clearly, when we sin, we do what God hates (or maybe are you saying that God doesnt mind when we sin ?!?) therefore we do not love God. I have a question for you : Have you ever, just once, loved God the way he should be loved? No, never, because no one has ever done it. Only Christ. So, we all have transgressed the biggest commandment in the Bible, so we are all sinners. We all sin constantly, every second, minute, hour and day. But, if we keep repenting and asking for forgiveness with a sincere heart and mind, God is good enough to wash us and forgive us. Repentence is not a single act performed 10 years ago. Grace is not a license to sin and living in sin. It is not by any work that we shall be saved, but when we are saved, if our faith doesnt produice good fruits, we then aren't saved. You almost cant loose your salvation, so it would be fine to live lukewarmly all your life and still be saved. But the question is : how is it possible to realise at what price you were brought and not wanting to do good deeds around you. Again, I have nothing against you, and for the main part, you got it right. This is "just" about the repentence and sin part that you are not biblically accurate. P.S. : When I left atheism for Christ, I witnessed on atheist forums and their only remarks were : "learn english first and then go here". That is why I now say that it is a secondary language, just so you know. Have you heard about Lee Strobel? This is more or less the same path that we both took.

Ray Comfort tells it straight from God's word. I have never heard him say anything out of line. He loves the Lord and is gifted by the Lord on how to speak to the lost about Jesus. Most false teachings in non-Catholic churches are either borrowed (to some extent) from Rome, or they're over-reactions to Rome's errors. In this case, the two false teachers think that since Rome teaches salvation that we have to partially earn, they over-react and think works (such as repentance) must have nothing to do with salvation. The truth is, while we must repent by faith to be saved, neither our repentance nor our faith earns anything from God. That's simply the way God wants us to receive his amazing gift.

Yes, he IS lost but he is also a false teacher. He is incredibly dangerous. What follows is as comprehensive of a list as I could come up with in one sitting on this topic. 2 Timothy 4:3-4 “For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.” Colossians 2:8 “See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.” 1 John 4:1 “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.” Matthew 7:15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves…” Galatians 1:6-9 “I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel- not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.” 2 Peter 2:1 “But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.” Jude 1:4 “For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.” Matthew 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’” 2 John 1:10 “If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give him any greeting…” 1 Timothy 6:3-5 “If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness, he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions, and constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain.” 2 Peter 2:1-3 “But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed.And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep…” Matthew 24:24 “For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.” 2 Timothy 3:1-9 “But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men corrupted in mind and disqualified regarding the faith. But they will not get very far, for their folly will be plain to all, as was that of those two men.” Acts 20:29-30 “I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; and from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them.” 1 Timothy 4:1-11 “Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer. If you put these things before the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, being trained in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have followed. Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance. For to this end we toil and strive,[b] because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe. Command and teach these things.” Romans 16:17-20 “I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive. For your obedience is known to all, so that I rejoice over you, but I want you to be wise as to what is good and innocent as to what is evil. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.” Ephesians 5:6-16 “Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not become partners with them; for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret. But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says, ‘Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.’ Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.” 2 Corinthians 11:13-14 “For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.”

Ray Comfort is a awesome soul winner. One of the things that they nailed Jesus to the cross for was forgiving sins and telling folks "Go and Sin no more." Anything that LEAVES OUT repentance and giving God/Jesus control of your life, is false. Jesus calls us to repent and follow Him. The rich young ruler had to give up all the stuff he liked to follow Jesus, but he chose his stuff over Jesus. The requirement to leave a self ruled life and accept Christ is the basis of repentance and is throughout the gospel.

From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” Matthew 4:17 The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!” Mark 1:15 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord. Acts 3:19 Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy. I am sure he made mistakes in the past with getting caught up in all of it, but I can see there is a way to not get caught up in things that don't need to be discussed in the moment. Both guys in the video are Baptists. They’re known for being loud (some would say obnoxious) preachers, who only trust the King James translation and say that all other translations are satanic and that they’re not God’s word. They’re also known to speak against apologetics, saying that apologetics have no purpose or effect, that they’re virtually useless in converting someone to Christianity. In my own experience it was apologetics that got me from a state of anti-theism to considering that God might be real and that Jesus resurrected.

In my life, I have seen that growing is often closely related to pain, one way or another. In order for a tree to bear fruit, a gardener goes in and prunes off anything that is 'dead, damaged and diseased', and that doesn't bear fruit. This is all part of the process. So don't be surprised when you see this happen in your life. (For some good nourishment, I can recommend the 'Good Fight Ministries', and the 'Blessed Hope Chapel'.)

Ray is teaching falsely based on scripture. Yes the Bible does say we should strive against sin, BUT it is not a condition for everlasting life. There are true believers all over the Bible that don't live like they ought to; simply looking at how Paul talks to beloved babes in Christ proves Ray wrong. Romans 3:19-28 is very clear that we are saved by faith, period. The passage does not say that one ever has to turn from their evil way to have Jesus be the propitiation for their sins. Turning from your evil way is you trying to keep the law, which we are in no way justified/saved by according to scripture: Romans 3:19 - Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Romans 3:20 - Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. Romans 3:21 - But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Romans 3:22 - Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:24 - Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Romans 3:25 - Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; Romans 3:26 - To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Romans 3:27 - Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Romans 3:28 - Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

@@michaelc7418 I think we can agree Oswald Chambers being a more sanctified theologian than any of us today. Let's see what he has to say, shall we? Conviction of sin is best described in the words: My sins, my sins, my Savior, How sad on Thee they fall. Conviction of sin is one of the most uncommon things that ever happens to a person. It is the beginning of an understanding of God. Jesus Christ said that when the Holy Spirit came He would convict people of sin (see John 16:8). And when the Holy Spirit stirs a person’s conscience and brings him into the presence of God, it is not that person’s relationship with others that bothers him but his relationship with God- “Against You, You only, have I sinned, and done this evil in your sight…” (Psalm 51:4). The wonders of conviction of sin, forgiveness, and holiness are so interwoven that it is only the forgiven person who is truly holy. He proves he is forgiven by being the opposite of what he was previously, by the grace of God. Repentance always brings a person to the point of saying, “I have sinned.” The surest sign that God is at work in his life is when he says that and means it. Anything less is simply sorrow for having made foolish mistakes- a reflex action caused by self-disgust. The entrance into the kingdom of God is through the sharp, sudden pains of repentance colliding with man’s respectable “goodness.” Then the Holy Spirit, who produces these struggles, begins the formation of the Son of God in the person’s life (see Galatians 4:19). This new life will reveal itself in conscious repentance followed by unconscious holiness, never the other way around. The foundation of Christianity is repentance. Strictly speaking, a person cannot repent when he chooses- repentance is a gift of God. The old Puritans used to pray for “the gift of tears.” If you ever cease to understand the value of repentance, you allow yourself to remain in sin. Examine yourself to see if you have forgotten how to be truly repentant.

Many pastors mistakenly think that salvation consists only in having faith in Jesus Christ but they forget that faith without repentance is not a saving faith. Repentance is also necessary for salvation and is the other side of the same salvation coin. The apostle Paul taught: “Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death” (II Cor. 7:9-10).

Wow. I have never ever heard of anyone preaching against repentance. That was horrifying to hear and I pray for him and anyone that listens to him.

You can see the resentment for his grandmother-He gets upset when mentioning her, this being one of the most important things about being watchful over your testimony, once you are a saved, cause now we don´t represent ourselves we represent Christ-Some will see your life as the only Bible, since they will never open one, amazing job! Those of us who can see truth know who you are Ray. You are an inspiration and not only an evangelist, but a teacher of evangelism to those of us who watch these videos. In all the awkward situations you always remain faithful. Thank you. God Bless 🙏
