So happy to see a hybrid budgeter, I'm FULLY digital due to high crime rate in my area (and also the effort of having to go withdraw and then deposit money just isnt appealing for me).. and I can attest, the system STILL WORKS just as good with prop money,especially if you have all your salary in one account. My (big) impulse spending has halted, I am very savings focused not only in actual savings but seeking good deals, prices and discounts at a variety of stores and I feel WAY more in control and intentional of my finances...the benefits definitely still kick in real or prop money - thanks for the vid!

Oh my goodness April thank you so much for making this video. I'm going to watch it more than once to get the hang of it. I'm grateful because I am only get one check a month or so and it has been very hard for me to follow the weekly and bi-weekly test stuffers. And you are breaking it down so much that I can understand it but this will be my first time and maybe because of you I might come to writing in that book and getting fake money too to cash stuff because😊 it's a little difficult for me to get to the bank❤

Hi, I watched your video a while back and liked the idea of a separate account for digital envelopes. I found a credit union that has a "spending account" re-loadable debit card. Now I just have to figure out how much $$ to put on it. thanks so much for your videos, they're super helpful cuz I'm not a numbers person.

glad I found your channel, I am confused about the digital stuffing, where do you put the actual money, just leave it in the bank?I would be afraid I would think I had more money than I do, I agree I don't like having money lying around either. TFS

Hihi! I keep mine in a 2ndary bank account that is separate from my main. So that I know every penny in that 2nd account is allocated across my envelopes and that's its sole purpose.

April, what are the "taxes and tags" you are saving $370 for? Would that be the same as car registration we pay in Texas that covers keeping car registered, roads and bridges, and fees? I paid $84 including a cc usage charge in August for a sticker to put in my window for a year. It used to be a sticker on your license plates but I guess those were being stolen. I am confused as to why that registration is so high where you live. Just curious.

Hihi! I am pretty sure it's the same thing that you are describing. For the tag and roads, etc. I think we are $290 a year, I may have misspoke in video if I said $370. But that includes my car and my husband's truck. That's interesting they moved it to the window! But if people are stealing them, that's definitely a good solution. Thanks for watching ☺️

Hihi! I'm so glad you figured out you weren't subbed. Thanks for subscribing 🐝 ❤️ The reloadable debit cards - when I was looking for one, I noticed the ones from stores charged random fees. Some to reload or use it. So, I went with the one from my bank because it has zero fees if I use it more than 5x a month. There are some other decent ones out there that don't charge a fee if you have an account with them. Check your bank and if they don't, then check around. But make sure it's reloadable and/or doesn't have fees to use. Thank you again for taking the time to comment and watch! 🐝 ❤️

Fun! I've been planning out my next purchases from y'all's shop. Crazy timing! I did JUST ask your sis about you too! I love the work both of you do. But yeah...on her last video! So much cuteness. I am wondering a couple things. Any way the book cash planner page will be available digital? I'd love both that and Fall...they're adorable! I was literally going to get the free one printed soon. Do the pages you showed us for monthly repeat 4 times or are there different backgrounds? I want to buy all, but I'm trying to make best choice for my needs. That's all. Last question...sorry. Would y'all consider selling a digital version of title page? I have the similar style saving book and it'd be cute on binder. I'm still working on challenges. So, you could piece it together. The backgrounds are the same - But I will be doing more themes that will have differences for the months. I didn't want to get too intricate with that because it's undated. I did recognize the similar format bc that pack is one of several things I've been thinking on. 😊 I had more food for thought before I replied! Thank you for the freebee suggestions. The covers are really cute! Btw, the bees on this video were precious. I actually like the general overall option with the weather theme ongoing. Then some seasonal options for when appropriate are fun little extras. I just asked bc I "have to" overthink and consider all sides. It may seem silly to some but I don't spend much on me stuff. So if this is a main spend I want it to be fun in its functional. 😘

I completely understand taking your time and trying to figure out what you want to do. I can tell you that everything I design is done with that same "overthinking" process 😁 I always try to design things in a way that will work in different ways and remain functional. Which is also why I typically try to start out with the weather theme to keep it simple and so my brain can focus more on the functionality. (I always go with the weather because of my name, April.. "April Showers" thing) ☔😂 I will definitely look into adding more themes to it after I finish some of the other projects on my table. That will also give me time to use it over the next 4 months to see if any minor adjustments need made as well. Thank you for the chat and I hope you find what works for you! Happy savings!

I know how you feel. I get up savings just to need them for unexpected bills. I'm hoping now we have moved to a house with solar and not between 2 rents anymore we can start putting money away.

Thanks so much. We have solar at the house we own. This house also has a battery so there is practically no power bill with a battery. A lot of Australia is very sunny so it's worth it. If you get any sun at all solar totally as itself back, even if you just get a basic set up. Our bill here was like 23 dollars

What does everyone do with they receipts? I use fetch rewards but I have a bad habit of stuffing them in my wallet and forgetting yo scan them. I need a system for receipts. Any 💡ideas?

Hihi! I use Fetch as well. What I do is throw them all in a basket in my kitchen (my husband puts his in there too) and whenever I'm waiting for food to cook or something where I'm standing around bored out of my mind to scan them and throw them out.

I tried budgeting by keeping money in the bank. It took me less than a month to screw it up. I added all the money I had in fake money to the real balance and I had more money than what was in my account 😮. Any suggestions??

Hi there! I use a secondary savings account to keep all my envelope stuffing with the prop money separate. It definitely helps to create borders by using more than one account and the reloadable debit card. For me personally, I have my main bank account for my income and household expenses. From that I budget out my essentials like groceries and gas and move that amount the reloadable debit card. Then the final total is for my envelopes and savings, which I put in my savings account. (this is the only thing I use prop money for and it's just a marker so I know how the full balance is distributed) I hope that helps you some and that you find what works for you! Don't give up :)
