I think the view was a lifeguards lookout .and my dad stayed a week at the miners. And my late husband used to help run the sands years ago. Thanks for showing it and Winthrop. My late husband and me used to going the carat night sometimes and watch the sea.

We have a caravan on garden city. We love the walk down to lookout,newcomers and boathouse. Lovely good at boarhouse.

The View is a great place to eat, plenty of choice but not cheap and cheerful, great coffee and some fantastic cake too 😋. We had a smoked salmon eggs benedict which was £8.95.

I remember my mum telling me that my grandad did his convalescence in that big old building after breaking his back in a pit accident. Great video and will be there in August fora family holiday.

Hello Neil l use the boathouse on a regular basis a midweek Mon-sat roast dinner brilliant and Sundays carvery the best around only £3 a pint till 20.00 dog friendly and Karaoke every night great staff .we are coming to Skeggy Thursday and will be having our dinner there for sure.Give it a go.

During one of my many stays in Skeg, we used to walk from Skeg up to Winthorpe to the Dunes pub and circle back to Skeg out the back of the caravan park with the Lightning on display.

Fantastic spot , always popular , shame they can't tidy it up a bit tho .....

Hi Neil thanks for that. We used to go every year at Walshs caravan site near the garden city pub and still to this day I think that's my favourite stretch of coast.

My auntie and uncle have a caravan in Winthorpe they’re on stows manor

Great video my auntie used to have a caravan at Winthrope went every year as a kid the smithis arcade used to have a pub attached to it but they knocked it down a some years ago ❤

Have been Skeggness loads of times but never been to Winthorpe it looks lovely will definitely go next time , how long does it take to walk there from Skeggness?

Across the wash is Hunstanton, Heacham and Snettisham. You can't see Wells, that's further round the coast.

Winthorpe haven't changed Much in 20 Yrears sill look same as I remember it when I went in Yrear 1 and Yrear 2 of Gosberton House School in about 2001 or 2002 I think I remember playing on beach with green football from playground I remember it going into sea and it went far in and we wasn't allowed in and we have watch float away then we have our pack lunch at 12 o'clock then we have a ice cream then before we went back to school we went into Smiths Amusements on a a couple of coin operated rides and what was over 20 years ago sill Remember it I am going go back to Winthorpe in Skegness and visit it again I may go in that cafe with outdoor seats it look nice

The Derbyshire Miners looks similar to the one in Blackpool, they've converted theirs into flats without ruining the look of the building

It’s such a shame that beach use to be lovely sand area and at dunes pub I don’t know why they don’t clean that beach area up and do something with where dunes use to be
