Fun fact- the high school they used for this is moving to a new location and this year is their final prom in that school. The students got in contact with Kevin Bacon and asked if he would attend that prom and Kevin said that he would GLADLY attend. He said Footloose was an integral part of his life.

The power of an unmatched decade. This movie like dirty dancing, Flashdance or videos like Thriller by Michael Jackson, Take on me by A Ha, or many more carved our adolescence with golden letters and are the unmatched memory of youth like a divine treasure.

I will always be a 1980s boy I was little but I remember my uncle Larry used to live in Phoenix Arizona. I visited him every summer he took me to a ton of concerts won’t ever forget. He also took me to Kenny Loggins awesome. Also bought me a huge boom box one I could barely lift every time I heard music like this I blasted it driving my late grandparents who raised me crazy ahh the memories

Finally watched this for the first time this evening with my Mom and it was amazing I loved every second of it, and this dance scene had me smiling so much. I've always been so embarrassed to dance but this made me want to dance the night away! Man I wish I grew up in the 80's but I got stuck being born in 2007 😑

from 1984 I remember seeing this at the local movie theater tickets were about $.75 to $1.25 those were the days and popcorn and soda or about the same price…. I had lived in Los Angeles from 1980 to 1982 and I remember kids break dancing on the sidewalks on cardboard flattened boxes and doing the robot down the sidewalks of Broadway ….. A couple of kids redoing the same steps from the kids I saw in 1980 to 1982 in Los Angeles in Footloose from 1984 …. those were the days….. the 1980’s in music oh my goodness natural artistic explosion is what that was ….. Kenny Loggins with Footloose from the same same if the Movie Footloose Kevin Bacon was so young here ……. music of the 80’s were so Iconic - you see kids today beginning to listen to this and they find it so awesome music it will never be as it used to be from the 50s such as Elvis to Motown music from the 60’s to 70’s just opened up 80’s oh my god new genres to the early 90s that’s it there’s no artistic creation in music anymore or bands. I actually did not know that they made a remake of this footloose and I cannot even imagine what they look like you just can’t redo a classic like this

What you have stated is not often lost on many. In fact, it is a common joke about this scene. But, what many fail to realize is the deeper meaning of this scene. Literally every kid in this town was Kevin Bacon. We only saw Kevin Bacon's POV.
