Meet Herman, the seasoned veteran in my motorbike collection. While he may be considered old in some circles, his age only adds to his character and charm, especially when compared to my sleek and modern 1250 GS.
Originally registered on my birthday back in 2007, Herman has a history that speaks volumes. Despite spending the last three years mostly idle in my garage, with only around 700 miles under his belt during that time, he's been meticulously cared for. Each year, he received the necessary maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, MOT checks, and insurance updates.
Meanwhile, I've been out exploring the world on my trusty 1250, racking up an impressive 40,000 miles on various adventures. But now, it's Herman's turn to take the spotlight once again.
As we gear up for our next big journey, Herman gets some well-deserved tender loving care. The first step? Entrusting him to the skilled hands of my mechanic, Ed, who will work his magic in the workshop.
With Herman undergoing a thorough overhaul, our new adventure is just beginning. Stay tuned as we hit the road together, ready to create more unforgettable memories and stories to share. Herman may be old, but he's certainly not done yet.
