Welcome back to the Foxhole.🦊🤘🔥 Glad to see you're back with this suggestion over a song composed by YuppeMetal (aka Yuyoyuppe), you'll hear more songs from him, he's also behind "Karate", the arrangements of Megitsune (another must watch) and more new songs from latest album like Monochrome and Believing. _Akumu No Rondo_ combines not only heaviness with dark waltz and dope time signatures changes but also delicate and fragile beautiness that makes you wants to grab your inception kit and go to rescue this 16 yo queen from this nightmare. Temporarily title song was "Kill The Alice" so is like Alice but instead of Wonderland she's trapped in a nightmare trying to escape and avoid some evil entity. Rondo is a musical form in which you can hear a repetitive pattern, you can hear an example of this in the song "Blue Rondo a la Turk". The Kami Band doing their second magnificent intro of the night with their own set called "Mischiefs Of Metal Gods". They become regular after this special live at Budokan 2014 and leaving baby-bones, from early shows, behind, shout-out to them thou. You already know some of them at Headbanger!!, such Leda Cygnus on guitar, BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums, the other guitarist here is Takayoshi Ohmura, he's Míkio' Fujioka's pupil (another beloved Kami Band guitarist who sadly past away) and a prodigy child, you'll see his recognizable pink guitar as well the golden guitar here. This was the day (night) after the first live premiere of this song and she's dancing and performing like she already did a dozen of times before, like a pro. Also she's showing some fierceness here dancing on that high dangerous mini stage with no wire and that's how she keeps winning everyone's heart. But not everything was perfect here despite their impeccable performance and sound, and the day before the girls face that dangerous challenge on the stage, taking their own revenge after coming back in 2021 to celebrate their 10 years and leaving those ghosts behind, fortunately. Like i said, YuppeMetal is the one behind this song and he took inspiration from "Protest The Hero - Bloodmeat" song, of course i recommend you to hear that blaster song. Thanks for sharing this wonderful SuMetal solo and my favorite along with _"Akatsuki"_ The other solos are great too and those are: - No Rain No Rainbow live at Legend S 2017 - Amore live at Wembley Arena 2016. And of course the rest of the girls under a subgroup called "Black Babymetal" are enjoyable too, they're taking a break here while SuMetal is performing to come back later, so don't miss out their other 4 songs too like: - "Onedari Daisakusen" live at Legend 1997, Gans Tomas got that clip safe to react. - "Song 4" or "4 No Uta" live at Budokan 2014. - "GJ!" live at Wembley Arena 2016 - "Sis Anger" live at Tokyo Dome 2016". Next suggestion: - "Karate" live at Download Festival 2016, "kitsune6001" got that clip safe to react. Turns out SuMetal got acoustic version of some songs such: - Akatsuki Unfinished Version live at Legend 1997. - The One - Stairway To Living Legend official MV. - Monochrome Piano Version at "The First Take" channel, the original is from the new album so try to enjoy that one first. And don't worry, you got more than 60+ songs left to choose your favorite BM song and trust me, most likely you'll get a bunch to pick up as your favorites. See you next time.🦊🤘🔥

Babymetal songs tend to be VERY different from each other, so usually fans are very divided when choosing a "best song" is a band that experiments a lot with sub genres of metal and other sounds, therefore that if the "best song" depends on whether you like power metal, nu metal, EDM, trap, folk metal, prog, hard rock, etc. I think usually a song that is always at the top of the fan charts is "Megitsune". But tell us what your favorite genre is and maybe we'll find your favorite BM song. 😃

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。This is just one of masterpieces of BABYMETAL. "Rondo" is a musical form with a recurring leading theme. I can't tell how many times I have viewed this video. It is literally a rondo of happy dream for me. Yeah! Kamis' (=Gods') super solos were excellent enough as a main event in the show. Once the 16-year-old Queen (as of 2014) emerged from the underground, however, she colored everything differently with her penetrating voice then turned Kami Band's plays into a ritual to summon her.

Babymetal "No Rain No Rainbow" at the "Legend S - Baptism XX" concert is no doubt the best Rock/Metal ballad I have ever seen performed. If you can make the video transparent or in some way obscure it to avoid getting the reaction blocked, go ahead, otherwise just watch it for yourself because it's so good. For a stripped down acoustic song I recommend "Monochrome piano version" which they performed on The First Take. Babymetal is a trio, but they have 4 Su-metal solos and 4 Black Babymetal songs where the other two perform.

There is a detailed history of how the band formed, and why/who was added, but basically it is founded to support Su-Metal; she has power and precision to her vocals and a stage presence that are legendary. The two support vocals (titled "scream and dance") were added just after she was, and the band itself (called the Kami band) were added a while later, couple of years maybe, when they had earned enough of a fandom and income to be able to afford actual musicians to support them. I normally suggest this below-listed set of songs to new and/or interested listeners, you already heard Headbanger, the other four are also top choices from their early years for a variety of reasons. The top on the list (Road of Resistance) is one of their best live performances of anything, and rivals any performance I have ever seen. the last on the list (Death) is normally the song they use to open a concert as "Death" sounds virtually identical to "Desu" in japanese which means "I'm" or "My name is"; in this case it is the closer for the set because the setlist is a rock-opera style show for Su-Metal's 16th birthday and she was selected to die as an idol singer and be reborn as a metal goddess. Babymetal - Road of Resistance - Live in Japan (Su-Metal owns an audience, amazing music) {{X - you watched this already}} BabyMetal - Headbanger Live Legend 1997 (Legend 1997 refers to lead singer Su-Metal birthyear, this concert is her 16th birthday, its great) Babymetal - Akatsuki「紅月 -アカツキ-」| LIVE at Budokan Black Night (Su-Metal solo) Babymetal - MEGITSUNE「メギツネ」(Five Fox Festival ver.) ~~~(for this particular version check the video details to confirm it has "red fox festival live" audio, it was a one night concert for women/girls only, the song has a strong theme of women empowerment, its brilliant to listen to the audience interaction parts) BabyMetal - Death Legend 1997 Apocalypse Live (heavy metal theater) there are dozens of others, and versions of each, that are wonderful as well. I hope you continue, look forward to seeing more.

Great reaction, thanks! First: the Kami Band. They are incredibly talented and skilled musicians and this little intro showcases everyone and let them a moment to shine. It's just perfect "Rondo of Nightmare" is one of Su-metal's four solo songs. Meanwhile Yui and Moa were having a well deserved rest in the backstage... or more properly here under that freaking stage. Suzuka could have been a great pop singer in Japan. There is no doubt about it. And it was the way she was going, actually. Right before Koba discovered her when she was a fifth grader (yes, really) and thought that she would be perfect to front a metal band. She accepted and (from my metalhead perspective) what she is giving to us is a gift. "Rondo of Nightmare" is not considered by the fans (in general) one of their best songs (or one of the most favorite at least) but I admit that the three solos she performed in that concert (Budokan 2014 Black Night) was the reason I became a die-hard fan. I always say that The Kami Band and the music got my attention (beyond the choreo, the production, etc,) but I stayed because of Su-metal. Did you say acoustic? Not a problem. First: "Akatsuki" but you need to watch the "regular" version first (from this same concert, Budokan Black Night) before the "unfinished version" (acoustic) from Legend 1997 concert. "Monochrome" (piano version) from The First Take channel and "The ONE" (stairway to living legend) from their official channel. 🤘🦊

Thanks for this reaction. The video/performance you reacted to was the one that made me say: I NEED to see the live. And so I did. I was already a fan, but then it became like a bucket list item. Some of the most amazing things is: she was only 16 years old in this performance and it's actually a song that has a bunch of odd time signatures and time signatures changes. And no, it's not their master piece, that's an other song,... the other song is inspired by Dream Theater

BABYMETAL is all about masterpieces but yes, you could choose Rondo of Nightmare as their masterpiece because it's incredible, a dark song like no other lyrically, there's still so much to see yet but it's all subjective. For most fans the best song is always btw Megitsune, Syncopation, Starlight, Tales of the Destinies, The One, From Dusk Till Dawn etc... I don't have a favorite yet but if one day I had to choose a song as their absolute gem it would be either Ijime, Dame, Zettai or Monochrome. I recommend reacting to From Dusk Till Dawn (Live at Budokan 2021), this song is out of this world, mainly the vocals and has some really fine acoustic bits.

Watch Monochrome The First Take. It's a one take stripped back version of an already emotional song, and was released this year, so instead of hearing the powerful voice of 16 year old Su, you're hearing 25 year old Su's much more matured voice.. Also Akatsuki unfinished is acoustic. The finished version of Akatsuki is also really good. It's another Su solo and actually place on the night as the video you just watched. Such a cool stage.

Rondo Of Nightmare/With Mischief Of Metal Gods Intro (Nippon Budokan Black Night):- This is one of 4 Su-Metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) solo songs. The other 3 are:- 1. "Amore" (Wembley Arena). 2. "No Rain No Rainbow" (Legend A Baptism XX). 3. "Akatsuki" (Same Venue, Nippon Budokan Black Night) Rondo Of Nightmare/With Mischief Of God Intro:- Babymetal:- Babymetal (Japanese: ベビーメタル, Hepburn: Bebīmetaru) (stylized in all caps) is a Japanese kawaii metal band, consists of Suzuka Nakamoto as "Su-metal" (Vocal and Dance) and Moa Kikuchi aka "Moametal" (Scream and Dance), Yui Mizuno aka "Yuimetal" (Scream and Dance) left Babymetal in 2018 due to undisclosed health issues. The band is produced by Kobametal from the Amuse talent agency. Their vocals are backed by heavy metal instrumentation, performed by a group of session musicians known as the "Kami Band" at performances. KamiBand:- "The KamiBand are the instrumentalists (or backing band) in BABYMETAL - Each member is a "god (Kami) of music" summoned by The Fox God stage by stage. All the Kamis have their own jobs and side-projects in addition to BABYMETAL". Current Members Who Perform At Nippon Budokan:- •Takayoshi Ohmura (Guitar, ESP SNAPPER-7/R Gold & Twinkle Pink). •Leda Cygnus (Guitar, ESP BLUE CUSTOM). •Daisuke 'BOH' Bohte (Bass, ATELIER Z BETA 6, Boh'S CUSTOM 6). •Aoyama Hideki (Drums, YAMAHA Signature Drum Kit). BABYMETAL is the youngest act to perform at the Budokan and artists need to be invited to perform there. Live at Budokan: Red Night & Black Night Apocalypse (stylized as LIVE AT BUDOKAN ~RED NIGHT & BLACK NIGHT APOCALYPSE~) is the third live video release by the Japanese heavy metal band Babymetal. It contains two concerts performed at Nippon Budokan shortly after the release of the band's eponymous debut album, and was released on January 7, 2015 in a standard edition and a limited-edition box set exclusively for "The One" fanclub members. Nippon Budokan:- Nippon Budokan (日本武道館, Nippon Budōkan), often shortened to simply Budokan, is an indoor arena located in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. Originally built for the inaugural Olympic judo competition in the 1964 Summer Olympics, its name translates as Martial Arts Hall in English. While its primary purpose is to host martial arts contests, the arena has gained additional fame as one of the world's most iconic musical performance venues. A number of famous rock music acts have played at Budokan. The Beatles were the first rock group to play there in a series of concerts held between June 30 and July 2, 1966. ABBA ended their last tour there. Their final show on March 27, 1980, was the last live concert ABBA performed together. Numerous acts have recorded live albums at Budokan, including Bryan Adams, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Cheap Trick, Dream Theater, Duran Duran, Kiss, Mr. Big, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Journey and Deep Purple. Thanks again for the reaction - This was a solo song for Su-Metal. The other two Moa-Metal and Yui-Metal have some songs they do by themselves too. On songs with all three of them Su-Metal is the lead singer and the other two are backup vocalists. IMO this is one of their most lyrical songs and one of my favorites. It's also one of their darkest lyrically by a good bit.

This is one of four Su-solo songs that are on the first two albums, Among them is its sister song Akatsuki, which itself has a piano version called Akatsuki Unfinished perform once at their Legend 1997 concert (as you asked about acoustic songs). The other two are No Rain, No Rainbow, and Amore, both off Metal Resistance. There are also four songs with just Yui and Moa: Onedari Daisakusen and 4 no Uta off their self-titled album, and GJ! and Sis. Anger off their second album. A rondo is a form of music, where in the piece the refrain, or theme at the beginning of the piece, repeats with often contrasting episodes in between, finally ending back on the theme at the end of the song. The episodes don't have to repeat or be similar, but the refrain has to stay in the same major or minor key it is in. There aren't many rondos in modern music. The synth you hear at the start of the song, and the djent that pick it up is the refrain, and there are two different episodes in between making it an ABACA rondo, with the A being the refrain. The piano you hear is a waltz, which is why this often referred to as a dark waltz. Though it is often classified as prog with as many time signature changes there are, and one of Babymetal's guitarists referred to Su-metal as a prodigy for being able to sing over it. You can see her tapping her foot and swaying to maintain her own beat despite how the time signatures keep changing. It is also their darkest song both in composition and lyrically as the song is about an unending nightmare where a creature that can't be seen is chasing Su, until it finally catches her at the end. The song was internally titled "Kill the Alice" before it was named, after the concept of Alice in Wonderland falling into a dark cavern, with an unseen creature. It's meant to represent the darkness in the story of Black Night.

_"Rondo of Nightmare"_ is certainly a very good song, but Babymetal has many more that are just as good, and maybe even better. Their catalogue is so diverse that it all comes down to personal taste, I guess. The biggest fan favorite is probably _"Megitsune",_ which you definitely need to hear. But if you want a stripped down song, then you should probably do the piano version of _"Monochrome"_ next: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/npOYg6qDuNDLnac.html Another great piano version is _"Akatsuki (Unfinished)",_ but I don't think you should listen to that until after you've heard the metal version. Maybe do a double feature? Akatsuki, Budokan Black Night (2014): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nZhjapV0mraufIE.html Akatsuki (Unfinished), Legend of 1997 (2013): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/p852f7Kqlp_RqHU.html

This is , first and foremost, a PRODUCTION. So talking about the lead singer as if she decided to become a heavy metal musician is incorrect. I mean, yes, ultimately she did, but only after passing through the "Idol" culture Japan is so fond of. What happened is that she and the other two were part of the same Idol groupings. and this random producer came along and, after hearing Suzuka ("SuMetal") sing, thought her voice was strong enough to cut through metal (his preferred genre). So this all really boils down to him. His name is Kobo ("Kobometal"). He asked his employer Amuse to let him start these three out as a sub group of the Idol organization. I think he then went about finding/curating excellent metal music writers to write for the group. Then he found top shelf musicians to play behind the girls. Hell, he found top-shelf talent for the entire production, and here's the result. It's more than any one player, it's a PRODUCTION. An amazing, wonderful, happy thing that brings joy to the world. If you wanna see her sing acoustic, watch Monochrome on First Take.

Welcome back and great reaction. Is this their best song or their masterpiece? It's a great song, but no. We all have different favourites for different reasons, but nearly all their songs are carefully crafted to the same high standards - and then performed to the very highest standards. Possibly the most technical of their songs is 'Tales of the Destinies', the one that represents who and what they are best is possibly 'Megitsune', the one that mixes most genres and catches people by surprise the most is possibly 'iine' ... there are so many that show off a different aspect of BABYMETAL better than others that deciding on any one of them as being their"best" or their "masterpiece" is virtually impossible. 'Rondo of Nightmare' is possibly closer to the sort of thing you are familiar with and used to with a singer standing and singing, instrumentalists backing the singer and that may be why you prefer it ... for now. You still need to get used to BABYMETAL's own style with the choreo and theatrics - and all those other things that makes them unique and original. This was one of Su-metal's solo songs (she is the lead vocalist). The two other girls - Yuimetal and Moametal who made up BABYMETAL at that time - were getting a break while Su performed her solo. Sadly Yui left the band in October 2018 for undisclosed health reasons following a 12 month absence, Su and Moa chose to continue as a duo and from 2019 through 2021 they were supported by three girls (the Avengers Riho, Kano and Momoko) dancing in the third spot. In April this year Momoko was named as the new official third member. As you saw, the intro was called 'Mischiefs of the Metal Gods" - in this instance the Metal Gods were the Kami Band (kami means god or spirit, so they are the gods of guitar, bass and drums). That night they were Leda Cygnus (blue guitar), Takayoshi Ohmura (gold guitar), BOH (6 string bass) and Hideki Aoyama (drums). This was at the Budokan in Tokyo, a martial arts arena built for the 1964 Olympics but now also a hugely prestigious venue for concerts and the place Japanese artists dream of and aspire to play (think Carnegie Hall or Madison Square Garden levels of prestige). They were playing in the round with the stage in the middle and the audience surrounding them in several levels. BABYMETAL are the youngest average age female band to play there - early March 2014 and Su-metal was just 16 and a couple of months, Yuimetal and Moametal still only 14. At the start of 2021 they played the Budokan again - 10 shows as part of their 10th anniversary celebration. 'Rondo of Nightmare' is possibly their darkest song lyrically. Su is caught in a recurring nightmare being chased through the dark by something she can't see. Finally she hides but it is still coming closer and, accepting there is no escape she asks that if she is to die won't it at least show itself first. She was only 16 here, yet she not only followed that intro from the Kami Band - when she came up through the stage on her platform she took complete control of the whole arena, all eyes on her. She has a JPop singing style, but she is every bit the Metal Goddess and commanding frontman/person all metal bands need. Acoustic songs ... listen to the original versions first: 'Akatsuki' (another of her solos - also live at Budokan Black Night, same as this) then the 'Unfinished' version (just Su, piano and strings) live at legend 1997 - 3 months earlier in December 2013, the day after her 16th birthday; 'Monochrome' from the latest album - watch the official lyric video first, follow that with the piano version posted by The First Take; 'The One' watch the official video first and then the 'Stairway to Living Legend' version.

I would totally agree with what was said here, I'd also, even though it isn't an acoustic song, it DOES showcase her talent quite well, is No Rain, No Rainbow Legend S Baptism XX.

I really enjoyed watching your reaction to this song and this was a brilliant performance. Just so you know, the girls were originally in an Japanese idol group before being picked to be part of BabyMetal and there’s are great video showing their history, which will provide you with a lot of answers as well as give you a greater appreciation of how far they’ve come, despite all the obstacles. In regard to Su’s solos she had four of them but sadly, no longer performs them. Can I suggest you watch Akatsuki from the same concert and then watch Akatsuki (Unfinished version) from Legend 1997. The first is the normal version and you hear the guitarists do a duel, while the unfinished version is Su and a piano. It’s absolutely beautiful and still my favourite performance ever. I think it’s fun to watch them side by side and very different feel they have. Enjoy the trip down the foxhole, it’s a great deal of fun and the happiest metal going round.

I think it's fair to say that you've only scratched the surface of what Babymetal & the Kami Band are capable of and have to offer. Enjoy your trip through the Foxhole 🦊🤘

👍 👍 You got questions? BabyMetal began in 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno (Yui left in 2018 due to health reasons). Both Moa and Yui were 11 years old when the group began. All three were friends and classmates who attended an idol school/group (Sakura Gakuin) founded in 2010 by Amuse Talent Agency for girls 10 to 15. Themed around school life (they attended regular school as well) the girls would learn and train at vocals, dancing, public speaking and etiquette, etc., graduate at age 15 and then move onto whatever entertainment path they chose or that suited their talents. Key Kobayashi was a music producer for Amuse and heard Suzuka sing at age 9 and was impressed with her strong vocals and stage presence. Kobayashi was a fan of heavy metal but believed that the genre had become stale and tired (especially in Japan) with metal bands getting old Kobayashi believed the genre needed to be reborn (BabyMetal means the birth of a new metal genre). Kobayashi felt that Suzuka had the ability to front a metal band and that her vocals and presence could withstand the metal guitars and drums. The fusion of Jpop and Metal began. He placed Moa and Yui as backup singers/dancers and a phenomenon was about to result. At first Amuse showed no interest and the girls had only financing from Kobayashi. They performed at strip malls and small venues using clothes borrowed from friends and family. No money for a real band they had friends dressed in homemade skeleton costumes pretending to play instruments to a backtrack. They became a sensation (these young ladies paid their dues). Amuse saw the potential and in 2012 hired the best session musicians Japan had to offer (The Kami Band) who tours with them today (now includes world class musicians from the USA for tours outside of Asia). If you choose to explore more of BabyMetal I suggest reacting to LIVE performance videos as this is where they shine. They have over 50 LIVE songs/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and have the respect of the legends of Metal such as Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and more. Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.) Suggest reacting to these for a start. Syncopation LIVE kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hcqSbL2qlb_If5c.html Monochrome LIVE at PIA Arena Yokohama April 2 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nKueqbVyvreZgI0.html Karate LIVE at 2016 Download Festival in the UK where 60,000+ British metal heads sing along with the girls kzfaq.info/get/bejne/p752bJeDrL-pnas.html Megitsune LIVE at Budokan 2021 BxMxC LIVE kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eNB-e6SLpqe1pZs.html Kagerou LIVE with Kami Band intro kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fs1jhNaBrpncYYE.html Road of Resistance LIVE in Japan Shine LIVE Tales of the Destinies LIVE Yava LIVE with Kami Band intro at 2017 Fox Festival Awadama Fever LIVE kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fsmqdJuCm5zVm30.html Catch Me If You Can LIVE with Kami Band intro At their concert in Yokohama on April 1 it was announced that a permanent third member Momoko Okazaki (who is also a graduate of Sakura Gakuin and has been appearing with them LIVE since 2019) has officially become the third member. Their new album in my opinion that released March 24 is amazing with so many different styles. Good luck and hope to see you again.

Thanks for the awesome reaction. So this is one of few songs featuring only Su the two other girls, Moa & Yui, doing backup vocals and dancing gets a few songs without Su also. One of the other girls (Yui) had to quit for personal/health reasons and has been replaced by Momo. They do have some piano versions and my favorite is "Akatsuki (Unfinished Ver.) Live at Legend of 1997.
