That bowl is a heart stopper Wow . I'm so happy for you and I definitely think you should keep it. What a nice memory to go with it , spending the day with your friend and exploring. I know exactly how you feel when you find something great. Matter of fact it happened to me just a couple of days ago when I found some really nice pewter pieces and earlier that day I found a beautiful wooden colonial pedestal fruit bowl that I just love They look so nice together with my ironstone. You missed a great antique store in Mobile. Just around the corner from “Antiques” at the Loop -they should change their name to “New Stuff” at the Loop. LOL. The Antique Emporium - just off Florida Street on Emogene Street - it is great!! Authentic old stuff !! Loved your video !

I'll bet that young fellow thought your bowl was redware. Yes, it says red because the clay is brick red as it is dug from the ground, but fired and glazed it can turn brown.
