From what I can remember, having lived through the Albany tricentennial in 1986 - the two guys up front in the video (the ones who spell "A-L" and "B-A") were Mason and Sheehan, the morning DJs on WPYX-106. They teamed up with David Allen (local songwriter celebrity who spells one of the "N-Y" parts) and The Sharks to produce the song as the "unofficial" song of the 300th birthday, and then of course they played it nonstop on the radio all during that summer. It's one of those earworms that never go away, and now I sing the spelling part to my kids whenever we go near Albany or mention Albany (we don't live there any more).

I remember seeing this on TV at my friend's house on Lancaster street in 1986. She said she'd make a video for me and then she lost the tape. I was broken hearted, never thinking I'd hear the song again. Now, thru the wonders of the internet, I have, and CORN LIVES!!!!

I had to move to Santa Fe because I'm sick and need family to see me out...However, I miss Albany so so much, and listening to this song brings me back to the Tri-Centennial. It was the time of my life! I love Corneeeeeeee things!

Wow, I just found this. I wrote the Official Song for the Albany Tricentennial Celebration which never got any airplay, but I did get a check for $500. "Oh, Albany" was a really good song, but I don't get to play it now that I live in Florida. So now I write Florida songs. Maybe I should record the song and post it. I never did like this song.

The only thing I got out of the song was the fact that Ed O'Brien was in with channel 10 crew outside of their channel 10 van in the background where he started his news broadcasting career then to WRGB he is a legend God bless him

WOW !!!! I almost forgot how bad this song was !!!! I can understand David Allen doing this type of a project, but unfortunately it was a "jump the shark" moment for The Sharks. One of the finest bands to come out of Albany during the early 80's. The one good thing about coming across this video was it reminded me of great times. I was fortunate enough to have the privilege of working with The Sharks as their lighting technician. It's good to see the guys again and I truly hope all are well
