This trail meanders through a beautiful, undisturbed desert quadrant of Tohono Chul. At about 1/2 mile in length, it's a favorite among trail walkers, casual hikers, birders and those looking to experience the Sonoran Desert in its natural state. Along the way, you'll discover stones featuring meditation writings that focus on the unique character of the desert, adding a reflective element to your journey. Remember to bring plenty of water, especially if you're hiking during the summer months.
This trail cuts through one of the main “highways” used by local wildlife, so keep your eyes peeled for bobcats, coyotes, and javelinas traversing the dry washes. You'll also find the majority of Tohono Chul’s 300+ Night-blooming Cereus (Peniocereus greggii) along this trail and the South Loop Trail. As always, be mindful of venomous desert wildlife-we're just visitors in their natural habitats.
