Hi all! Today I'm sharing another process video where I draw a wintery scene in my sketchbook. I'm using all dry materials today (pan pastels, pencils and neocolors) and exploring colour and texture. I'm really enjoying this red and blue colour combination at the moment and really loving the dark skies! Hope you enjoy and thanks for watching 😊

Thanks Emma 🥰 I was tempted to keep it without the dark sky as it was such a serene little scene but I loved the dramatic blue!

Love this so much. Absolutely love the sky, the various blues really give it an impressionistic feeling. Gorgeous.

I think it’s funny you say you struggle with trees because I really love the way your trees look! Maybe one of my favorite things actually!

You should definitely look into buying some of the sofft tools that are made specifically for pan pastel. I've seen comparisons between them and makeup tools and they seemed to work much better.

That’s so interesting how you used the different blues in conjunction with different textures for the sky, inwardly whilst watching I was like how are you going to blend it all together but it just works so well that you don’t need to! Also thank you for sharing that you don’t work through one medium then move to the next and go back and forth. I have tried to make myself stick to one, and have felt ‘wrong’ when I haven’t but it actually tends to produce more pleasing results. Really enjoyed watching your process Katie, keep it up!

Thank you so much Han, you always notice such lovely parts to my process 💙 I'm really interested in texture at the moment so I'm resisting the urge to blend - I just really love seeing the pencils lines and scribbles! I find it feels way better for me to pick up tools and mediums intuitively, rather than the 'set' order we think we should. As always, it comes down to what feels right for us 😊

I heard my name ☺️☺️ but I’m more excited to tell you how much I enjoyed this video and I can’t thank you enough for it. I like the way you work, going from one medium to the other. It’s just how you as an artist works. I also love how you draw your trees, they are perfect the way they are. I am very impressed with how you use the crayons around the windows and door! Such precision. You are very talented young lady!

Thank you so much for the idea Kathy, this is all down to you! 🥰 So glad you enjoyed watching it - I know it's not quite as much red as the other spread but I really love the contrast of having more white snow too! I find it so much more intuitive to move back and forth with mediums rather than one at a time! Thank you for all your support, it means so much 😊

Hi Katie, I’m thrilled that you didn’t mind doing a similar art page again. There is plenty of red in this one to make me happy!😊. I enjoyed seeing how the page developed.
