Hello my friends and welcome to part two of my fellowship of the ring series of painting videos. In this video I am painting Samwise Gamgee and I had a huge amount of fun getting this one completed. This is such a great little model with so much detail and it really does capture the character of sam from the movies. This has been a video where I got to have a lot of fun trying a few new things as well. Including trying out some NMM meal colours on the sword and frying pan while also mixing up my own colours of clothing while trying to match the movies.
Thank you so much for your continued support and awesomely positive comments. This channel has been fuelled by you guys and the more you watch, comment and like the content the more content I will post. This channel was made during lockdown simply to show my friends how I paint in my spare time and since then it has grown into a nice little platform with quite a lot of content. Please feel free to ask any questions in the comments bellow and I will get back to you and answer you to the best of my ability.
As always Thank you for tuning in and watching and I hope you enjoyed this video and I really do hope that it helps you on your painting adventures.
I would like to add a special thank you to my good friend Mark Llewellyn for his amazing backing music. My videos wouldn't be anywhere near as good without them.
Also a massive thank you to my good friend Chris Dixon for his artwork on my banner.

Gorgeous as always, Dan. Lol, the sausages. High Five to the model creator for adding that to Sam's mini. Appropriate and comical. And I love how much you loved them as well! Adorable! 13:35 when you add small amounts of white to your colours to build your highlight; That's how I do it as well. I have very limited colours (Started with the AP Starter Kit and since purchase maybe only another 10 colours) so for me, I use my colour (or a custom mixed colour) then add 1 drop of white for 1st highlight layer, then 2 drops of white for the 2nd highlight layer, then sometimes go to 3, but rarely, in extreme cases only. That gives me my 3-4 layers. And of course, as you have taught, always diluted and watered down as well. Honestly, my reasoning for this is simply that I cannot afford a large amount of paint colours. But, since this is how I do my armies, they all have the same style and look to them, so it works for me. I'm happy to see Sam added to your custom diorama style base. I love your creative scene in the mine battle you've made. Definitely going to look amazing once it's complete and on display. Looking forward to the next one! And eagerly anticipating the finished set. As always, sending our appreciation and love, for you, yours, and your content form Canada to Wales 💖 Cheers, my friend. ✌

As always you honour me with such kind words my friend. Thank you so much once again for taking the time to watch and comment it really is very much appreciated. I’m so very glad that you enjoyed the video and the model too and of course the sausages are by far my favourite pet of the model. The good thing about mixing the colours and using small stages of white to highlight is that you don’t need to collect huge amounts of paints as you can easily make new tones and highlights out of your existing colour palette and that allows your paints to go further. It also allows you to learn how to blend and mix a lot more too giving you a really great and unique style that is completely your own. The best thing about the hobby is that if is your hobby and you can paint and create anything you like in your own way. I just love to paint and these videos are more of a collection of me painting just because I love to do it. Like any painter I have my own little style and am happy with it. I’m not the best painter in the world and there is still a huge amount for me to learn too. This is a series of my paintings that I hoped to be able to encourage other painters to sometimes try new things and enjoy their own paintings too. The diorama base has come out better than I was expecting and am truly looking forward to completing it and getting the whole set on display in my special display cabinet too. I have big plans for creating a few really nice movie style dioramas for display in my geek cabinet. Thank you so much again for your time and words, without the kindness of the community and comments like yours o doubt I’d still be making videos. I’ll hopefully see you on the next video where I’m working with a lot of grey tones while painting Gandalf the grey!

The character of Samwise is curious enough but, the addition of a frying pan and sausages really add depth to his role. Great painting on the pan and sword. Dan, thanks for Middle Earth minis and sharing your paint skills. I paint Middle Earth and your videos are unique and different from other videos. See you for the next one

Thank you so much. I do love the sausages and frying pan so much and agree with you that they add so much more character to the miniature. I'm so happy to hear that the videos are different from others like it and that they are offering you a different perspective and option to your painting also. The Middle earth miniatures are so much fun to paint and I have lots of big plans ready for the near future where I'm hoping to make some great looking dioramas from the movies to keep in my "geek" cabinet. Thank you again for your time and comment my friend it really does mean a lot, I'll see you on the next one!
