I remember seeing the trailer for this game and thinking “What is THAT? That looks pretty cool. But do I want to jump into the 7th game of a series?” So I did a little research before buying the game and then bought the game on Day 1. So worth it. What an experience.

I don't have nearly the Ace Combat experience you do (AC 7 is my first game!) but when you cried for Kei, so did I! This is such a beautiful story...I kinda binge-watched it all at once, heh...more drama and emotion than some Hollywood productions! You've got a lifelong fan, sir!

The well known "tunnel challenges" in the Ace Combat series, more so in AC 7 mission 20, are a real pain we know where. Installing parts for increased handling (yaw/pitch/roll) is mandatory for mission 20 because of that tunnel... AC 7 sure is one very beautiful game. Flying in free mode with no hostiles is perfect for appreciating the awesome surroundings, in each particular mission theaters. I sure wish that the landing gear could be extended/retracted manually, just so that landings were made possible in free mode. Must point out that your piloting skills are awesome.

There are some unresolved plot lines, but the story and its themes were great imho. The boss fights were also pretty fun, my only problem with them is that there weren't more.

This is what Ace Combat should be. Touching ends. Start cut scenes that makes you wonder what happens next. It's all wonderful.

AC7 was my first AC game. I played the ever loving crap out of it until I recently S-ranked every mission including dlc, on every difficulty, and then played back those missions including dlc chronologically. I loved this game. I really wish I got to know the lore and characters of past entries, but playing AC7 was super satisfying despite having no knowledge of older games. That's when you know a game is good. When you can just jump in and have a great time in the face of callbacks to games you don't know about. I sincerely hope to jump into more AC in the future.

Though I will pick up my copy later this morning, what I have seen is impressive. Yes I have watched all this mission already and don’t feel ruined or spoiled, but will still enjoy playing it. And for a very older AC fan I too got tears in my eyes as well. A lot of feeling for me of both AC4 and 5 in this one. The game is what you would expect from a true AC game in my book.

Personally, I think AC7 at its core is basically a love letter to what made the games addicting: with adrenaline-boosting dogfights, intense canyon flights, superweapons fighting, tunnel flying, epic soundtracks, etc. Coming after two mediocre installments (Assault Horizon and Infinity), AC7 is trying to pick up what made the franchise special again. But yeah, I agreed. The story needs a lot more polish. Lots of wasted potentials. My biggest letdown has to be Avril. The trailers made it seem like she's going to become a pilot and possibly your wingman later in the game, but she's just relegated to a background character who doesn't really make any impact in the story aside from fixing planes. Many interesting characters are killed off without developing anything to make us truly care about them (I felt really sad when Brownie bites it, though. The first casualty and the most shocking in the game for me, followed by Harling...). Overall, this game has both ups and downs. If you're here for everything that makes Ace Combat fun to play, then you're in for a good time. If you're here for the call-backs and continuity nods to previous games that you loved back then, then great! But if you're here for a memorable story then you're going to be somewhat disappointed. Hopefully, Bandai-Namco will continue the series and take the time to polish the story and characters this time. They stepped in the right direction with 7, now all they need to do is to further expand upon it and make the further installments to have their own identities. PS. At least I'm happy that Nagase finally gets her 'bridge of peace', after all. It's too bad Harling didn't live to see her mission succeeded, though.

I just finished the game and I’ve cried my eyes out when Nagase came out in the end. I love Ace Combat, not because it’s perfect, but because it makes you feel human.

Who else thought thought that count was gonna betray us with all the times he ran away from combat, but was surprised when he took the shots from the drone for us?

This game made me feel a kind of magic I've never felt before. A masterpiece in every sense of the word. Bravo, Project ACES.

21:00 - Every freaking time I hear Nagase here my eyes water up. And I've watched this video for quite a few times. This is the apex of the entire series, ladies and gentlemen. I don't think Ace Combat can get any better than this. The music, buildup, visuals, engines roaring...and that final speeches. This is pure unadulterated art, my friend. Don't blame yourself for crying. This is what all we fans deserve. Oh have we waited for so long for this...and we are fullfilled. Salute, Namco-Bandai! You closed a full circle here. What a series you are! I'm proud to play this franchise since Ace Combat 2 and I wasn't disappointed...and I think I won't ever be. Sincerely, Another Ace Combat Fan.

After playing by myself along with you play through, this is much better than I expect. Even tho it is not equal to the golden trio (4,5,0) but it is good. And one thing to say here, this one is the most difficult one I ever play!!!

But now i finally won. -Cpt. Anderson The tunnel mission felt like AC3's Tunnel Vision with the closing gates. The big feels when Kei Nagase entered the stage again and Princess Waifu survived. But when the stars are within reach now and the next war will break out maybe we have another space mission again since AC3.

There's no doubt: Nagase is in the Arkbird II! Remember when she said that Harling would build another Arkbird? No doubt! Edit: well, actually it's Pilgrim One, but it is maybe a callsign for the Arkbird II

I cried to at the end, the mix of having such intense battle during the last missions, then going from difficult drone fight to princess reveal to tunnel run to closed quarters final fight and then the cherry: climbing the elevator and seeing proper dark blue... I felt that ACE COMBAT IS BACK

I have finally succeeded after 3 days to beat the entire campaign with only the f4e Phantom II

I teared up too at this ending. Heck I teared up several times during the game. This is without a doubt one of the best Ace Combat games ever.

An epic ending! 10/10. And sets the stage for AC3!!

I just beat the game too. I really enjoyed it. It has definately achieved my expectations with the exception of one. I was expecting the epic boss music to be much louder and maybe a wee bit more epic. It has the same drawn feel as AC6 Chandelier. A game worth playing for many years though just like 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, Air and 0. Edit: after manipulating with audio. I have no qualms with the boss music either. This is truly a masterpiece.

11:40 Watching his face turn from 'more of this bullcrap' to 'is that Nagase?' is one of the most satisfying things I will ever see.

Okay, two challenges. 1. Fly through the Arsenal Bird once you destroy the core. That is if the hole doesn't have a collision box. 2. Complete mission 20 in a MiG-31B, with no mobility parts (everything else is fine, speed increasing parts especially). The ADF-11 fight in the space elevator can be done at regular speed, but tunnel section before that and the escape need to be done at full throttle.

I have not played all the Ace Combat games so I don't actually know who she is. But I have noticed that this Nagase seems to be quite a popular character. Edit. Also when I got told to fly in the tunnel after the UAV my reaction had been. "You want me to f**king do WHAT?!"

One more thing this game definitely United the ace combat fan rivalry between the Osean and the Erusean fans

I love her she was first introduced in ace combat 2 known only as edge and every time she shows up its always a pleasure to see the developers had a way to connect ace combats together. Thank you for this lp well worth the time.

I checked the play through after I completed the game and you were not the only one who cried I cried when rosa got shot in the previous mission and in all of the ending PS: I landed at the aircraft carrier and took off the carrier with the F22 And man I still can’t believe like 99.9999999% of the story I’m still shocked

This is a challenge to any player who pre-ordered Ace Combat 7 and got the f4e Phantom. try beating the entire campaign with The f4e Phantom only. I'm currently halfway through the campaign doing this challenge. I'll respond to this comment once I beaten the campaign my self doing this challenge.

I just finished watching your entire playthrough just for the sake of watching how you first react. Beautiful play, you chose hardest difficulty available for the first time, never fails any mission, crashed only twice at the end of the playthrough (i laughed at the carrier landing, i fell for that one too lol), you're a true ace indeed!

I just finished it with F-4E Phantom II again with SASM. And there was a some AC5 references which I enjoyed it. The story is freaking awesome. The final mission is like you're fighting the final boss. #Phantoms4Life One more thing, Drones do not belong to the blue skies. Human pilots does. Because, it's a traditional method of air combat.

Finished the game as well. Felt like I was young playing this game. The story amazing, gameplay glory, and music amazing with the vibe. Probably will be the best game for me in 2019 so far.

You, sir, are an amazing pilot! Watched another guy play and he wasn't as good as you! I only played through mission 10. You gave me the closure I wanted with this game. Any flight game I always play with expert controls. Thank you! I also played AC4 and AC5 but never completed either one.

I wish the next ace combat would follow one of our old aces. Would be nice to play as the demon lord again. And it would be much better if AC7 has slightly more reference. Such as, Osea ground unit said something like : that guy... reminds me of that pilot long ago.... You know, mention the old legends.

The Ending gave me chills and goosebumps

11:17 Huh.....this large fighter drone is kinda interesting. When the mini-drone detaches from the large fighter drone, itz like itz ejecting out like a pilot would. Also more fascinating is the fact that the mini-drone is kinda like the ejection capsule (a fully enclosed capsule, not an ejection seat, the capsule pod was rly a vehicle all on its own....well almost) of the american F-111 Adavark bomber......but with jet engines attached. Thatz kinda rly cool......even if the large fighter drone gets shot down, it can eject, and fly away to safety rather than self-destruct. What's more you don't have to expend as much manpower, and resources to recover the "pilot" from enemy territory.......I have heard of a lot of emergency transport systems for the pilot to evade capture in enemy territory, and "supposedly" don't require helicopter rescue teams......let's see......there was this mini-helicopter that shot-down pilots would use to get out of enemy territory (I think the mini-helicopter was mounted on the ejection seat, or something).......and there was this crazy parachute-hot air balloon hybrid thing that the pilot would ride in ffffing mid-air (after ejecting from his shot-down aircraft), and wait for a recovery aircraft (presumably with a Fulton recovery system.....I think?) to pick him up...........(anyways the two systems I talked about were presumed to be impractical......or something like that) .....................but this mini-drone ejecting out of the larger one while using jet engines?!?!?!?! Craziest idea I have EVER heard all day long *o_______O*

I think its safe to say this game lives up to the holy trinity! Making it a saga now. I loved the story personally! Hit me in the heart :')

I've had a blast with the Campaign. What a finish. I'm still a bit rusty in Grade performance but I still have wings. Time to loosen up and go ballistic like a missile with multiple warheads!!

The joy of a real, long time fan

From a music standpoint this mission is everything. And even rewatching it, it is perfect. The briefing is a variation of the previous "dark comms" briefing. Until the briefing goes to this is do or die, fuck this up and we lose everything and the music dips down even more depressing and then for the first time ever it blends into the hangar theme where it feels like you ARE going to deal with it. It is, absolute perfection. And then pairing Lighthouse -> Daredevil -> Hush it gives the perfect progression of Fuck yes, flying in the clear blue skies and beaming sun -> Oh fucking hell we need to deal with this Arsenal Bird -> This is what you're fighting for, if you don't beat Hu and Mu THIS feeling of freedom, open airs, the deep dark blue will be lost FOREVER. Hush is the perfect culmination to what you're fighting for. And that's ignoring the story and the overload of nostalgia with the Andersen and Nagase and the critical hit of loss that just happened during Lighthouse.

During the events in ace combat 5 Anderson died died shortly after kestrel sank. It doesn't say when he died. In the acepedia site it just said he died shortly after the war
