This system seems like it could easily be expanded into a sort of solo/co-op kill team, with expansions for different factions and the ability to build your own team.

A little bit disappointing they didn't bother making new miniatures for this.

Can't wait to play the miniatures game based on the video game version they make of this.

Kill Team is my fav tabletop game by far at the moment, the way fighting works is so much fun and alternating activations is a big plus.

Even though this game is really just a way for GW to sell models they’re having a hard time pushing, this is why I think Games Workshop should keep the name “Games Workshop”, instead of rebranding everything as just “Warhammer”. They are still Workshopping Games.

I really enjoy it when you play these smaller or obscure board games! Really makes me want to try them out myself!

Bought this today as I was looking for a quicker pick up and play style game. Glad you liked it and now I’m looking forward to getting started with it.

The hex-based maps remind me of Betrayal at Calth and it makes me sad that that game system wasn't given further support.

I wasn’t initially interested in this, but seeing that it’s based on Kill Team (my favourite game right now), and co-op… I might have to keep my eye open for it!

I am mainly into the lore (I collected 300+ Black Library books in the last 5 years, mainly 40k but some Warhammer Fantasy as well). I am into video-games (1000+ hours in Vermintide 1/2 and Darktide combined + many other Warhammer video games and not only of course). I am NOT into Warhammer wargaming tabletop, due to high complexity, extreme dice chucking, time and money requirements and painting requirements which is something I just can't and don't want to do. However I like board games and I buy and play some. For Warhammer I have some board games including the 3 'Space Marine Adventures' games and the 'Warhammer Quest: Lost Relics' (and I play 'Blackstone Fortress' digitaly at Tabletop Simulator). Also I am mainly solo board gamer. So this Darktide Miniature Game is perfect for me. I completely realize it's a ultra-light and very simplistic, so in essence it's a butchered version of the real thing. But since it can be played just solo (with the "A.I." behavior) and it doesn't really need to be painted (I have all the abovementioned Warhammer board games unpainted and it works okay) it's a good little way to emulate a Kill Team experience despite being just a shadow of the real deal. So I am happy of this product (pre-ordered already). Its target audience is us casuals and not the seasoned veterans whatsoever. And the main idea of GW is to try and pull us into the real deal. Its expensive unfortunately...more than the Kill Team Starter set to be honest. I just bought my copy anyway as I'm uninitiated to KT as a whole. So im in it more for thr models i dont have yet, and the boards to help me with learning games. Can't wait to try it out with the models that I do have painted already!

I was considering getting this just for the minis, since I don't have any of them. But it actually looks like it might be a good game too. So I went ahead and pre-ordered it from the GW website, which is something I almost never do.

This feels like what Kill Team should be in regular 40k Would be cool if you could add other enemies, like if there were options to add things like Chaos Spawn or Plague Ogryn

The game looks great. I’ve been looking for a game to play with my daughter that is like UnderWorlds, but cooperative and a bit lighter. Seems like a perfect fit. Thanks for the video.

As a first time buyer of the Warhammer tabletop (or board game?), this is my first impressions which lots of reviewers on YT did not mention: Box is super thin and filmsy for such a huge expensive IP and yes, you can see sprue shapes poking against the box cover. No inserts within the box, thus the runners are prone to be damaged if there is too much shaking during shipping. As a result, one of the arms of my operator was detached from the body. Luckily I found it somewhere deep within the box. Most of the miniatures are not snap-fit, thus glue is needed. I dont mind that, but some parts were way too small and did not connect well with the other parts. Lots of time spent in assembling them thus I have yet to play it. Only pros the miniatures are detailed and rulebook is interesting. But with the price I am paying for, not worth the experience. This is my first and last Warhammer purchase.

If you ever do another video game charity stream, I'd recommend the Rogue Trader RPG that came out last year. It's more story-y than Darktide, and I think it'd be fun to hear your take on the plot and characters (maybe with Mira?).

Looks decent. A little bit pricey here in the States. $75-80 would be more attractive than $110. But maybe that goes without saying. I already play Kill Team, so the big attraction here is that it’s solo/co-op and is quick and easy to set up. Much more feasible to bring this to a pub or coffee shop and have a game.

Great video as always! I know this is alittle off topic but I’d love to see you continue to di retrospectives on the armies in 40k. Like for space marines, chaos space marines etc Kind of like you did for necrons. Less about lore and more of the making. Like the one you did in the Badab war. Just wanted to say those videos are awesome and your work is great!

I bought this for the models to add into Kill team, especially the ogryn to use in veteran guardsmen using the rules for the chaos ogryn. This game system looks fun though. I thought it would be Underworlds for 40k but being more like KT seems like it works well

Its a great start And with sum homebrew additions it could be great Like different weapons for operatives Bigger Boss encounters like beast of nurgle or Plague ogryn Abilities like voice of command, or shield dome And i may actually make some 3D print files and rule PDF-s for this

Makes me want a Warhammer flavoured Gloomhaven/Frostheaven. Nothing bad with what it is right now, but it feels similar to other GW games.

This looks pretty cool, I like the idea of collaborative kill team, but then my experience with kill team was the 5e core rule book, where you could totally have played collaborative style if you wanted to fiddle with the rules a bit, basically just what this game seems to do, the baddies will do whatever is worst for the players in any situation. That's how I've solo run board games like risk or fortress America for quite some time.

I love the Blackstone Fortress and play Kill Team. Unfortunately, I have all of these models bar the Kasrkin trooper but I might see if I can get a copy of the rules. If GW decide to give this a proper release as a quest type of game I'll definitely get it.

Take a look at FireTeam if you can track down a copy. it's 2 player. It has SM Assault Intercessors and Necrons in the box but also Data cards included in the box for Ork Nobs Tau XV25 battle suits, Harlequin troupe and and some Tempestus Scions. So far I have added a squad of Nobs and a Troupe squad to my box and it provides plenty of variety.

I like Kill Team and I like DarkTide, so this game looks like a win for me. I prefer Kill Team to full 40K because of the granularity of the latest version of Kill Team, instead of one hit one roll one kill. Do miss the large vehicles and walkers of 40K though. I hope DarkTide gets expanded on, adding in more things from the video game like bosses, Beasts of Nurgle, Plague Ogryns, and Daemonhosts, I have more faith in this game because it is not a Barnes and Noble release like how FireTeam was. Fingers Crossed.

Great video. Quick Q on the combat. If a Pox Walker was to attack first, and rolled two successful hit. With the defender rolling two successful hits and a crit. Will the first Pox Walker hit always go through. I.e it can’t be saved?

I was thinking of getting this because I'm working on my own rules for a "co-op killteam" but now I feel like I don't need to. These rules don't seem so great. The miniatures are nice though. It would be cool to have a trator guard team and some zombies. I'm unimpressed by the hero minis.

Looks like a solid game! $180 is incredibly steep for a board game, but it may be a better value argument for the fact you have 20 models in the box and enough to have a Killteam after. Still, the only comparable game I can think of price-wise is Frosthaven/Gloomhaven, which has about as many minis but a couple pounds of cardboard and just over 100 scenarios to play through in its campaign. E: I was able to find it on pre-order for $110, more reasonable but still high

Looks to me more like a heavily stripped down version of Blackstone Fortress than being based on the Kill Team ruleset. Does it really bring something new to the table or is it just another Warhammer Fireteam or a light-weighted Assassinorum: Execution Force? I will pass on it.

Are the veteran guard and the Ogryn new models or old models that have been combined onto a new sprue? They look very familiar.
