Third-person shooter Gene Rain is the answer to the question “what if Gears of War, but bad”? It casts you as a member of a "death squad" fighting aliens, monsters and, thanks to some fairly slapdash localisation, "swollen scorpions". Not everybody wants to hire 3D artists, I guess. Taking some random model from some random site, modifying it a bit and scaling it up does the job, and I think we all can agree on that..........

they should go on the direct publish section on XBOX one. some of those games are so bad, they are funny all on their own. one of the "best" ones I played was called "blueprint racing- the next generation" . it's been pulled due it insane levels of copyright infringement, but it was so bad. I'll see if I can find the demo video....

Stef A I have actually read a good portion of the books and like them a lot. The first one even moved me a little. I was more referring to the games but those are at least a lot of fun.

How could you say that this is a Gears of War clone? Gears is a cover shooter. This game doesn't have cover in it. Those things you're hiding behind are, as pointed out by the UI, are in fact shelters. Ergo, this is a not cover shooter, but a shelter shooter... or to be more precise, a shelter hitter.

I'll tell you how this game was localized. It was originally written in Braille, translated to Sanskrit by Google Translate, then given to a toddler who dictated it to a rabbit, then faxed to a doctor in Greece who translated it to English. It was a pretty simple process, actually.

Poor localisation hurts me.. Its like a stab to the heart. As someone that speaks several languages the amount of time I see games that could have been great but sucked due to language issues... This may not be one of them tho lol

Sooo much Engrish. This game has a bright future on Twitch - it's a hell to play it, but so much fun to watch someone else doing it :D Also these "guided" missiles weren't very guided - as far as I saw they were flying in a straight line.

I knew this was going to be bad when withing the first few seconds I saw that the starting weapon is an oversized pistol model that is somehow supposed to be taken for an AR.

Y'know, these people spent years learning how to program and design games, years building a world and writing a story and characters and putting it all together. That or this was thrown together in a handful of months by a small group of uni students. Could be either, really.

This game actually did raise a question for me. "Kill the whatchamacallits firstly" -- "kill" is a verb, so why _don't_ we use an adverb form for "first"?

I know nothing about this game, but i am guessing it was indie developers with good intentions, but bit off way more than they could chew. Resulting in convoluted story and tanky controls and repetitive gameplay. I think this will chalk up to a fail.
