GAME 4: Mario Fireballs @ DK Kongs
After a tense extra innings match-up against Peach's team, the princess joins up with Mario's team as he challenges an old rival, Donkey Kong. This foe will be the strongest pitcher that Mario's team will have to face so far, so this will really put the team's hitting capabilities to the test. Who will come out as the victor? Find out in this video!

I personally liked Super Sluggers. The recruiting system was a lot better and the CPU teams were a lot less aggressive with double and even triple plays. Also the single player mode was a lot more story driven and that makes it more replayable.

WilliamSchmidNetwork yeah, but at the same time you get a lot more robbed home runs with the stupid Buddy Jump thing they added. "Home Ru-" (Hammer Bro and Red Magikoopa get a Buddy Jump out) "WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT!?"

That's a good question, honestly. In my opinion, they should ditch most of the baby characters other than Baby Mario and Baby Luigi and also scrap a lot of characters from the Donkey Kong series. However, I agree with you in that more Mario enemies and characters from the Galaxy games should be included next time.

Another tip SM, when you hit the ball and you're running for first, there's a little chime that plays sometimes. That chime means you WILL make it to first no matter what.

I just listened to the two themes side-by-side and, interestingly, there are some similarities. This is kind of like the Weapon Master mode of Mario Baseball, too... AND they were both developed by Namco! You might be onto something here!

That's true, Donkey Kong also had that cameo in the remake of Punch-Out!!. I like to think that the whole association with DK and boxing came from the final battle of Donkey Kong 64, but maybe it's just a coincidence.

Yeah, I've had that happen to me a few times before when playing this game. I'm not sure whether it's a glitch or it was put in intentionally by the developers, but it will probably come up at some point during normal play. I'll be sure to point it out!

I'm not a huge fan of solo LP's, but this one is very interesting. Maybe it's the baseball jargon. I'm a Reds fan so I'll have to forgive you for being a Red Sox fan. ;)

the only bad memory i have about super sluggers is that darn pirhana plant ferris wheel game. i needed help from a friend to beat it.

I am controversial about super sluggers. I like the gameplay, characters, minigames and stadiums better than superstar, but I think superstar has better Toy Field and the challenge mode is way better than sluggers. But, I really like the motion controls on sluggers. Overall, they are both amazing games in their own right.

Hey! You can see some elements from the original DKC Trilogy like the temple walls and millstone from the first game and Swanky Kong's tent from the third game!

Actually, Birdo is the strongest balance type. Also, make peach lefty. She will be amazing. Daisy is a horrible batter. And you should put pianta in the field, he has a laser throw.

Johnnyb 92401 yeah, but Wario also has Laser Beam and he's a much better fielder. After all, he's one of the fastest power type characters in the game!

Well the only thing is that the special teams can only happen in exhibition mode with certain players. example: monty mole, bowser, luigi dk goomba and toadsworth are the DK Animals

You don't have to use the motion control in Mario super sluggers you can set your settings to make the wii remote be like the GameCube controller that makes it better but Mario super star baseball is still way better

Also about your Star Swings; if you use one and get a Perfect hit with 5 stars, it's pretty much a guaranteed home run, not sure if you knew

Wario may be good on mushroom or flower but with those damn terrible at everything except catching magikoopas it is really hard on star and special but somehow i did it, without them of course

Regarding dixie kong's terrible batting I somehow got a grand slam with her and it was hilarious because it was max power and perfect hit and it still barely squeezed into the left side of the field and my friend who I was versing just gave up after letting that happen

Sup SM, im workin on a scorecard that after each level ill tag in some stats that i am recording.. For all characters batting n feilding.. I mean i hav heaps of spare time, i enjoy seein players who destroy the competition. N it is up to date with this vid... Just need an ok from u :-)

heres a good roster in my oppinion mario, luigi, peach, daisy, yoshi, birdo, wario, waluigi, dk, diddy kong, bowser, bowser jr, dixie kong, funky kong, baby m/l/p, goomba/para/magic, koopa/para, noki, pianta, monty mole, boo, king boo, petey p, blooper, h/f/b bros, rosalina, toad, toadette, toadsworth, toadbert, wiggler, dry bones, red and black bobomb, koopa kid, boom boom, luma, shy guy, king bobomb, whomp, thwomp, shroob, lakitu, shadow mario, buzzy beatle, and spiny. tell me if you agree! :)

Very weird way to play this game. Don't know if you ever end up learning this but certain characters are meant to be charged and others are not. Players like Mario, Luigi, Daisy, Peach, and Birdo are gap hitters and are meant to be charged. The power hitters like DK, Bowser, Bowser Jr. and Wario are also meant to be charged. Contact hitters like Yoshi, Boo, Walugi, and Diddy are not meant to charge. Contact hitters will normally pop out if you charge them and power hitters will normal line out if you don't charge them. Also Walugi is not the best pitcher on the game. Boo has the same speed and control but has a much sharper curve in exchange for a weaker change up.

Porfirio Aguayo Bowser is probably the worst pitcher since he is one of only a few that can't curve his fastball and his regular curve is terrible.

Porfirio Aguayo Boo is probably the best. He throws just as hard as Waluigi and has a faster curve that is sharper and faster so that it is harder to react to. I think it goes Boo, Waluigi, Peach, Dixie Kong (because her change is literally broken), then Mario because his curves can be super nasty.

Randy Savage Indeed. When I first got this game back in 2005 (I believe), I always thought that the stats meant better action in that sector (i.e. Batting or Pitching). Guess I was wrong. Thanks for your information. Really helpful. :)

SourceOfBeing do not know if you have all ready found it out but fielder's choice is when the player can pick which base runner to get out but can only get one of them and that is the basic description

CuponkAddict Daisy's character description in Mario Super Sluggers says "Her amazing glove is her best feature" and I've performed her Super Dive move so many times that I think it makes sense. I wish I could make a video of just how epic that move is...

Here's an example of a team name change: if Daisy's team has mostly female characters (Daisy, Peach, Toadette, Dixie Kong and Noki), then the team name will be the Daisy Queen Bees

Kelly Brown well I can answer that with a bunch of things: -AI controlled fielders with chemistry robbing home runs with the Buddy Jump ability they introduced in the game -too many "Hit The Ball To The Right Area Without Getting Tagged Out" Missions -glitchy motion controls make mini games that were previously easy much harder to play and win -some missions have questionable objectives with Lakitu giving you next to no information on what to do -only the normal green Yoshi can use the Rainbow Pitch and the Egg Swing -only Mario can enter warp pipes in Challenge Mode, while Yoshi and Princess Peach have both entered pipes in their own games (Yoshi's Island games and Super Princess Peach) -characters with questionable chemistry with other characters (why do Toads have good chemistry with Piantas?) -Clamber is a difficult move to pull off -the new Buddy Toss is tricky to perform -pointless character inclusions like Baby Daisy and Miis

Matthew LeClair yeah, in this game only, partially because you can change what hand he pitches with. In Mario Super Sluggers Waluigi is a lefty and you can't change him to a righty. I played with him on the mound once. Had strange pitch control and ended up beaning Diddy Kong!
