It seems everyone else has plans for the day, and thanks to an e-mail from a certain awesome-haired individual, so do we! It's off to do some work for our old pal Higsby. However, he's not the only old aquaintance we run across! During our first job in Yoka, Mr. Famous has shown up, and this time without the mask! Famous now operates Punk, and it's quite a tricky battle, especially with only early-game chips at your disposal. However, all you can get from him, sadly, is Zenny. So this is more a challenge battle than anything else.

@JustKeepFlying His name is just "Punk," no Man. In the Classic Series, he was part of the Mega Man Killers unit rather than being an ordinary Robot Master.

Actually, Mr. Famous did have one Navi in the anime: HeatMan... but only for one episode. He gave the HeatMan data to Mr. Match to save FireMan/TorchMan's remains from completely disintergrating into digital dust after a close encounter with FreezeMan in a net sewer. Yeah, that episode was shown twice with two different perspectives (totally filler, though, except it does explain where HeatMan came from), one showing Lan's and the other showing Mr. Match's.

@MelanyKoura it was a tournamnt chip if i recall correctly so no they id it well its when the game is localized they should give it out in tourny or have it in game like BASS GS

@andrewsallee Really? With a certain wristband item (that can in fact be obtained now) in your inventory, Punk's chip gains an input that lets him inflict 600 unboosted damage, unavoidale by normal means. That's more damage than (SPOILER?) Bass/Forte+ or Alpha/ProtoArmΩ. If that wasn't enough, it also has one input that gives 400 damage, non-flinching and confuses at the same time. I'd say that's great for a standalone Megachip. But still not as awesome as the Varsword =P

Actually in the anime he does use HeatMan but later gives it Mr. Match. HeatMan then has TorchMan's data and takes on FreezeMan to avenge TorchMan aka FireMan.

for famous in the manga he only ever used punk, and although gateman did show up he was not operated by famous.

I love how these games not having voice over makes it ambiguous what exactly Higsby's speech pattern is supposed to be, huh. (Also fun to see how players new to the series handle his dialogue, HUH!) I wonder if it's related to the japanese version too, or if it's just the localization team having a weird idea that makes the character even more iconic, huh.

@CivilKenears The Japanese version called him YamatoMan, which technically is his real name. He was based on Yamato Man, a Robot Master from Mega Man 6. This is why his chips are all coded Y.

It was funny when Punk tried to attack you but couldn't due to the gaps on the floor. It seemed like he was stumbling. I think I had never seen you run out of chips in your folder before!

I usually hack Punk in by the time you can get a few V2s of other Navis, so it is not quite as broken compared to the others.

@megamanenm Not really an odd thing, that. He's based on Punk, one of the Mega Man Killers from the Classic series. Punk appeared as a special boss in Mega Man III for the Game Boy, and later appeared as a special DLC boss for Mega Man 10. He was the only one of the three Mega Man Killers to get a Navi counterpart.

I just realized something. all of the netbattlers that have customized NetNavi's have a article of clothing or accessory based upon their Navi's emblem....so where is Higsbys?

You, sir, are the most awesome of dragons. From perfect runs, to Battle Network vids, to Silent Hill you are always amusing to watch, informative to listen to, and sometimes, downright hilarious. I swear, if I had a better computer, namely one capable of doing so, and the right equipment I would do LPs myself, and I would probably find myself using Roahmisms without thinking XD

Mr. Famous does actually use a navi in the anime ... once ... and it's debatable since he didn't use any chips, but he used an incomplete Heatman against world 3 when trying to convince Mr. Match to take Heatman and put Torchman's data in him.

I think AntiDmg would have worked, but you needed Punk to use his counter move on you. It was the attack where Punk shields himself and launches his mace from behind to hit you in the back.

speaking of Punk, putting in to the number trader 90690648 will give you Famous's Wristband I know it was suppose to give you access to punk but for the English games as the events never happened the item dose nothing

Punk is an event only chip...? I'm sorry, that's bad game design. :/ If an item is in the game data then it should be available for a person to earn. Doing something like that is very bad practice, and yet it doesn't stop game companies from continuing to do that. It's a shame really. You'd think after so long someone on the inside would call them out on it. Oh well. Enjoyable video as always Roahm. Looking forward to more soon.
