I like the idea of Fathis standing at the counter of that shop muttering to him self 'I have three of these scrolls, and if I don't use them two at a time I'll die...' then turning to the store owner and saying 'Here, have this one scroll; I found it in the swamp, it's perfectly safe, I promise!'

Also, fun fact: when Tarhiel screams, if you look at your character's mouth in third person, it moves as though it is screaming for him. It does the same thing when the Daedric princes talk.

First time I used a scroll of Icarian Flight, I had no idea what was going on, and totally freaked out. Also, regarding light sources..... I LOVED the light sources in this game. I moved into the house of that Orc woman in Balmora who you have to take out for the fighters' guild, and decorated lavishly, with all sorts of light sources all over the exterior.... I would stand on the other side of the river admiring it. Yes, I had a lot of time on my hands.

First time I played this game I spent 10 mins trying to kill a mudcrab (my first enemy encountered) because I kept missing constantly and wondering why I couldn't kill it. What I hadn't know was my friend who set me up to play back then cranked the difficulty all the way up and passed me the controller.

Scribs represent an important idea at play in Morrowind. For those of you who like to swing at everything and overlook the fine details, this little bug will make you respect the foreign land you're visiting and think about your decisions. Too often games give us bumpers so we can't get a gutterball, but that encourages people not to exercise a little caution. Dark Souls teaches this lesson harshly and quickly.

You should do a series entirely focused around suggesting different character backgrounds/builds/roleplay ideas - You seem to be able to come up with good non-conflicting backgrounds on the spot, I notice there's a lot of RP suggestions online but most of them tend to just be like "Uhh.. A thief!" without building up the backstory, and it's interesting backstory ideas that usually inspire other great RP ideas in my opinion. On a complete tangent, just reinstalled and started playing Morrowind again myself, this time with MGSO and Less Generic NPCs - holy shit, the mod community has come such a long way since the peak of my Morrowind play, I still remember the days when all the graphics/sound overhaul mods were incomplete and most/all of them looked and sounded worse than Morrowind itself, the only reason we installed them was because it was a novelty seeing Morrowind in slightly different textures. Now I honestly think with MGSO and everything it has in it, Morrowind looks better than Oblivion and it's podgy faces and overdone bloom by a country mile - maybe even as good as Skyrim at some points. I just wish I was better at configuring things without breaking MGSO, I feel like with a little tweaking the Depth of Field effect could be a bit less jarring when walking around. The bedroll in towns thing gives me an idea if the mod-makers happen to stumble upon this comment (if it'd work within Morrowind's constraints): You could have the bedroll work in town but it checks to see if it's: A) A well-guarded upper class part of town, B) A lower class part of town or C) A quiet place off the roads, if it's C then you can sleep uninterrupted, if it's B there's a fairly good chance of waking up with less gold or to a mugging, if it's A there's a fairly good chance you'll get woken up by a guard asking you to pay a fine. I mean in the real world most towns don't allow you to sleep on the street but you can get away with it if you're sneaky or don't mind being fined/told to move on ;)

you do not have to use 2 scrolls, you can use a levitate spell right before you hit the ground, and it will stop you from dieing. Also, shields are not useless as they still increase your passive defense, and actually if you are not using a two-handed weapon, there is literally no reason NOT to use a shield.

am I the only one who doesn't call it fatigue, even though that's what it's called? I mean, yeah. it's called that in game, and apparently favoring something newer is worse than murder... but I much prefer using "stamina" than "fatigue." I mean, it's a bar that depletes. so saying "low fatigue" actually means you're tired, despite it meaning you're feeling pretty fresh and energized when used normally... it's like calling your health meter your "damage meter," and making "low damage" mean you're actually fairly damaged.

In the Breath of the Wild inspired paraglider mod for Skyrim, they named the lesser power similar to -Revali's- Ravioli's Gale "Tahriel's Gale". The NPC who starts the quest also dies in quite spectacular fashion, much like the namesake of that power. It was a nice callback to Morrowind 🥲

@5:41 or you could find the tax collector's killer (Foryn Gilnith) and ask him about the dead tax collector. His shack is facing Fargoth's Hiding Place. Gilnith will admit to the murder and tell you that he believed that Vitellius was corrupt and was raising the taxes so that he could keep the extra gold for himself. It is up to you whether you spare Gilnith from the guards or turn him in. If you choose to spare him he will thank you and out of sympathy he will give you Processus Vitellius' Ring for you to return to Thavere Vedrano. Vedrano will then give you two Restore Health potions for returning the ring. On the other hand if you tell Gilnith that you will turn him in to the guards, he will become hostile, forcing you to kill him. If you kill Gilnith you will receive 500 gold from the Census and Excise office. You can also take Vitellius' ring from Gilnith's corpse and return it to Vedrano in exchange for two Standard Restore Health Potions. Or keep it - it's an "Exquisite Ring". (Or option number 3 give the ring for the potions and then kill her and take the ring back). (I pretty much always choose the ladder of the two options with Gilnith, as I usually play as a Worrior). Also, if you choose to kill Gilinith, you will receive 500 gold from the Census and Excise office as a reward for doing so. If you skip the part where you "report the death of the tax collector" to Socucius Ergalla, then you get to keep the 200 gold from the dead body and get the 500 gold reward.
@SoCalCornHusker

SoCalCornHusker Also if you give Fargoth his Ring back, then do the "Fargoth's Hiding place" quest by talking to Hriskgar; that's another 300 Gold, a couple of lockpicks, and you get Fargoth's ring back. Furthermore you raise Arille's disposition towards you to 80 by giving Fargoth his ring. (you Probably knew all this). If you buy the enchanted ring from Vodunius Nuccius for 100 Gold you could sell it for Profit. This also raises the disposition of Darvame Hleran (a Dunmer caravaner who runs the Silt Strider service in Seyda Neen).

2 things: 1 - this video is extremely dark, the night parts are a black canvas with a specks of light from mushrooms/fires 2 - yo should soooo give the 200 drakes to the guy, he has you find the murderer and gives you 500 when you do!

My favorite thing about morrowind is that the Dark Brotherhood are evil, but the Morag Tong are the official assassins of the Dark Elves

I survived using the spell as I landed outside of Vivec in the sea. I got attacked by slaughterfish and desperately tried getting out of the water, and managed to get up into the city where I promptly got horribly lost and never found my way out of it.

2 episodes in and this is basically the best ever. As far as noping the fuck right out of there and feeling of dread when a Cliff Racer pops up, we play exactly the same.

I know this is WAAAAY too late to really help in this LP, but for those who don't know: give Fargoth the ring when you encounter him, then go hang around Areal's tavern and chat with folks a bunch. Eventually someone will mention how they keep getting screwed by Fargoth and wants him to pay for it, so they'll help you out by mentioning he has a secret stash he only accesses at night and gives you something illegal to sneak in there. If you agree to this, hang out on top of the tavern or somewhere you can see the whole of Sedanine, so you can see the little toad scurry about. Follow him back to his hidey-hole (the hollow log Fathis uses for his moon-sugar, I think) and you will get the ring back along with somewhere in the nature of 2-300 gold for the effort. You can't find the stash though until someone tells you about it and you have to wait until nightfall to do this. Not bad for a level 1 quest, huh?

The containers and plants that are animated and just disappear when picked up come from Animated Herbalism (or some such titled mod), which basically turns all the plants and containers in the *base game* into the kind that just disappear/animate when used. The containers that act like the normal game, opening the inventory window, are the ones added by Morrowind Rebirth, and such are not referenced by the Animated Herbalism mod, so they behave vanilla.

Interesting about the Temple/Shrine scrolls.I play an MMO where you have a skill, with cooldown OFC,that teleports you to nearest Goddess statue where you are protected from all enemies and able to heal yourself, your mount and your pet.I did not know things like that existed in Morrowind.I need to get back to this game.Last I played I was not far from Seyda Neen and was attacked by an assassin.I killed him but I do wonder if taking his armor will make people hostile. That's a cypress swamp just like Louisiana, you would see tall trees like that.

I am pretty sure you know this but bloat is actually pretty useful since it fortifies intelligence when mixed with either netch leather or ash yams which is very useful since it improves your chances of success at alchemy.I am also curious about the tower with a note on the door in Seyda Neen,I don't know what the its deal is since I never used Morrowind Rebirth before but it looks awesome.I couldn't install it now since I am in the middle of a playthrough and my installation is already held together with glue and toothpicks. One very minor mod I would recommend is Shiny Septims in makes the gold look more like the Septims in Oblivion and Skyrim. I am also excited to the see what Pelagiad looks like.

You can use slowfall with the icarus scrolls of flight, and it works much better than 2 scrolls. it's a great way to get around.
