"It's really hard to find a strategy that works." No. It's not. 1. Concentrate attacks on a single opponent before moving on to the next one, preferably with an eye towards enemy turn order. 2. When presented multiple targets, group attack the most dangerous. The order of attack is based on Agility ratings. Kill the highest AGs first. 3. Avoid large groupings of your party by maximizing range attacks. It cuts down on enemy spell damage. These tactics are true for every single battle in SF or SF2, including this one.

Again glad you beat this, I love some SF. Some things to remember for players. 1. Don't rush the mobs especially later in the game, most maps you'll be fine though. For the tougher maps though try to separate them to take on fewer at once. Pull or lead them away if you can. 2. Learn to be patient. By letting mobs come to you can help in many battles especially later, they'll approach in small manageable groups. Oddeyes battle for example where rushing in means you die. Just wait and oddeye will send few at a time until his troops are gone. 3. Play safe and make ample use of boost and attack spells and items, they're there for a reason. Boosted troops make great decoys for enemies to be lured out or waste mp on and will greatly reduce healing cost for you and your team. 4. Dont be afraid to regroup or pull away momentarily to heal its important. Regrouping after mobs to heal or pulling a unit from the front lines to be healed can save lives. 5. Dont worry about losing a troop or two on maps, they WILL die occasionally, instead focus on the end goal. If you have enough troops to take out the map leader that's all that matters, it doesn't take much. And you can always replay for exp and gold.

I adore Shining Force II. I can't choose a favorite between this and the first one though. Love them both.

Health and magic points colours: Rainbow= over 600 HP/MP White= over 500 HP/MP Grey= over 400 HP/MP Black= over 300 HP/MP Blue= over 200 HP/MP Green= over 100 HP/MP Yellow= over 0 HP/MP Red= HP/MP which is under 100HP (red shows taken damage within yellow HP/MP) That is what I know anyways... No enemy in the series has surpassed rainbow, so who knows what over 700 HP/MP is...
