Atomiswave games are being ported to the Dreamcast by Dreamcast-Talk forum users megavolt85 and yzb. In this video, we show some gameplay footage of Faster than Speed, Maximum Speed, Metal Slug 6, King of Fighters XI, Dolphin Blue and Samurai Shodown.

This is awesome. The amazing thing is that this didn't happen for over 20 years! I was big into the DC scene back in the early 00s and had this came out back then people would have freaked.

I've been playing them on Demul and they are full speed and work great. I love it.

I Played on my Android Phone and Run Good, King of Fighters XI, King of Fighters Neowawe, Samurai Showdown 6, NeGeoBattleColiseum, Demolish Fist and metal Slug 6, Developers makes Great Job. :)

Allo, Tom. Great to see these games running now. They must have worked very hard on this, as it can't have been easy. (I don't think they had access to any source code, so would have had to patch the original binaries.)

Holy shoot is this for real? Man I really want to fire up my Dreamcast and play these Sammy Atomiswave games working on the Dreamcast because it shared the same architecture. I imagine these games were ported but, what a surprise. I don't want to mod my Dreamcast because I want to keep in it's original condition. Maybe I'll buy another used Dreamcast. Great work👍

You could buy a cheap GDEMU clone and install that to play these, then unplug it and plug back in your GD ROM drive. So soldering etc, as easy as plugging in a usb device.

Hi Mark - not sure, although it's worth keeping an eye on the FAQ section on DC-Talk as they appear to update it regularly. Chances are that yes, at some point in the future CDIs will become available: www.dreamcast-talk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=13621

You can run it on GDEMU, I have it running on mine perfectly, disk.gdi

So far a lot of them are GD files only so you do need a modified dreamcast that takes an SD card or has some other media interface other than a GD-ROM drive. It looks like there is work going on to bring these to burnable formats soon though

These have been tested via SD Card in the serial port of the Dreamcast as well, some have CDI version which allow you to boot from a CD Not modified our Dreamcast we just used a SD Card Reader in the Dreamcasts serial port and works fine - James

A great video but I had to stop because of the huge amount of audio dynamic range compression you have used. An onslaught of everything louder than everything else. A shame but sure you know your audience.
