Happy 30th anniversary to Matt Groening and all the staff/writers who made the Simpsons" broadcast animated show grow and thrive; I may be a bit older than the broadcast/show but I will never forget my first experience with the lovable maniacs of a certain town/metropolitan region named vaguely as "Springfield" !!!

Me, personally? I loved the Simpsons, pre-2000! I had ALL the VHS tapes and DVDs! If I wasn't playing Nintendo/Playstation, as a kid, I was watching Simpsons! It used to have the perfect balance of subtlety, comedy and emotion, to make us really care about the characters! (E.G. One Fish Two Fish Blow Fish Blue Fish, Flaming Moe's, Bart gets an F, Stark Raving Dad, episodes like that are my favourites in history!) Once 2000 came around, the quality felt like it dipped, somewhat! Not TOO much, it was still fun to watch! Once the movie came around, however, they really changed the style of the show to something overly-silly for my liking! (It feels like a young audience's cartoon, just with slightly more mature humour!) It hasn't hit that level of love I felt in the aforementioned episodes for YEARS and I all-but fell out of love for the series, aside from the golden oldies! :/

I pretty much agree, I still watch the new episodes every Sunday and enjoy them, but I also prefer the older episodes. I find the older episodes much more memorable and have several of them memorized, something I can't say about the recent episodes.
