A good entry level sight reading exercise for the snare. A few years down the percussion road you'll be playing Jim Chapin's syncopation for the modern drummer. You'll learn drum kit left hand right hand left foot pedal right foot pedal independence. It only gets harder after that. Good luck...........and practice often.

Pretty simple drills, now for you jazz and classical people, start throwing in even faster notes than just sixteenth, do different "Rest durations along with notes", add triplets, add grace notes, and change the time signatures. Oh the fun of Rhythms. You either love them or hate them Thanks for the video.

The second to fifth rhythms are suitable using in Chinese New Year songs.

Second is: in this part of rhythm was used 8 times of eighth note. Third: All is sixteenth notes but something that suitable to using in Chinese New Year music. Fourth: First is the both of sixteenth note was connected with eighth note 🎵. So in this measure, you'll heard it's fast 2 beats and another 1 beat is slow.

Fifth: Between the first beat and the second beat The interval between the first beat and the second beat is relatively long, and the eighth note is used. That's why you hear the tempo in bar 5 go from slow to fast.

In the sixteenth notes, do i count the notes that aren't being played as well? Like if its "1 e & 2 e &" do i still need to say the "a" after the &?

You don't have to, but it can be helpful to at first so that you leave the right amount of gap between the notes

🎵You don't have to play the drums. You can use it for any instrument, or your voice, using any note. I'd start with the first note you learned on your instrument. You could even use the rhythms and apply them to your scales. Using the quarter note for each pitch (down beat) it would take you two measures to go up the scale. Eg, the first two measures would be: C, D, E, F - Gg, Aa, Bb, Cc, etc. If you don't play any instruments/ sing, you can clap/tap the rhythms. 👍🏾🎵
