Great content once again Scott 👏 I've operated tk 50 hp, loved it.. Schwing wp1000 x hp , the rock valve works great for pushing less than 200' Warrior x600 was a performer, but currently running reed c50ss , great for shotcrete, / pumping 💪 . I agree ,depending upon mix design longer reducers are better, but in tight areas, alleys etc use what fits, I prefer a 3"×3" 90° longer radius elbow off the 4×3, & you can roll it which ever direction you wish. Good luck and keep on pumping 💪 👍

I myself have been pumping shotcrete since the eighties, from Thompsen, to mayco pump, Whiteman, . Trailer pumps. Im comfortable in any 4 section 40 m and down boom pump, and also high rise stationary pumps, ie BSA 14000, . you are inspiring and keep up the great content, always good to watch your vidz, I don't always watch concrete pumping videos, but when I do,..I watch the Canadian concrete pumper, quite possibly the most interesting pump operator in the world 🌎 pump on my friend 🤙🏻

Dewalt makes one. Just stick the hose in a 5 gallon bucket and you got a handheld, battery powered pressure washer. I personally don’t have one or used one, just saw a quick video but you might be able to hook it up straight to your hose on the truck and have access to you water tank.

We have always liked to use longer reducers on our pump, we find it a lot better and makes them last a little longer which is nice
@canadianconcretepumper1979
@canadianconcretepumper1979 Жыл бұрын
We’ve gotten into the habit of using the shorter reducers mostly because our mixes are so forgiving around here. Also, most of our jobs are only 1-2 loads, so less reducers mean quicker setup and takedown. You’re absolutely right though, the longer reducers last longer and also help with pumpabilty, especially when the mixes are less than ideal. We still keep long reducers on the truck for said situations. Thank you for the great comment 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

We have SP-500s that we run with shotcrete in 90+ degree weather (this summer was brutal). The handle it pretty well. The pump is never my biggest concern on those jobs, its the operator and the batch plant. Only certain operators do shotcrete for us, and its just becauss you need that experience. And the batch plants (really the client) always seems to want to call for the second truck when the first truck is empty instead of when the truck is like at 1/4 left so the second truck reaches as soon as we’re done. Waiting on a truck with shotcrete is a no go. The 1000 we dont pump shotcrete with because the pressures are just too much. You pretty much don’t reverse. Reversing typically does more harm than good because the pressures only dry it up further except now it hasnt even left the first elbow.
@canadianconcretepumper1979
@canadianconcretepumper1979 Жыл бұрын
Our VS70 sounds to be pretty similar to your 1000 in terms of pressures. The 7” material cylinders just aren’t well suited to pumping shotcrete. How do you did the rock-valve in terms of cleanup/buildup after a day of shotcreteing?
@bowenike
@bowenike Жыл бұрын
@@canadianconcretepumper1979 because the weather is insanely hot and like I mentioned we usually find ourselves waiting on trucks, we usually end up cleaning out mid job so before it starts to set up in the rock valve. If it does after a long day then we just accept that we’ll spend 30/45 mins pressure washing/chiseling if needed. We do the phone trick also to check that we got it all.

Yeah those things are crazy. Not much volume, but huge pressure. 4.5” material cylinders on those I believe. Seems like many shotcrete applications are limited to 10-15 yards per hour anyhow.

For how many pools i get to be apart of, it’s crossed my mind to look into it to see if it would be worth getting one. Would 15-20 pools/hottub jobs justify buying a shotcrete specific pump?
@canadianconcretepumper1979
@canadianconcretepumper1979 Жыл бұрын
@@ConcretePumpingService I honestly think the TK60HP is one of the better shotcrete rigs out there, and most definitely one of, if not THE best all around trailer pump on the market. If you wanted something a step up for shooting pools, maybe a B50HPS Reed, or one of the mid-size machines from Western Warrior. I think the TK20 would just be too one dimensional of a pump in that it wouldn’t have enough volume for much aside from shotcrete and/or slab-jacking applications.

Honestly, I notice little to no difference in terms of pumpability/plugs, as well as pressure readings when pumping shotcrete through the shorter reducers. Even with our regular mud, it pumps just fine through the shorter reducers. They’re a lot more convenient to work with as well I find. The stuff I’ve seen you pumping in your first couple of trailer pumping videos I think would fair just fine through the shorter reducers. Looks to be nice material.

@canadianconcretepumper1979

We actually just grabbed a Schwing 4800 trailer pump (not your typical tow-behind, but more of a high rise pump). Trailers are really only common hear amongst shoring guys who leave them on site, or commercial shotcrete guys. Most of our residential work is not super friendly to the added length of accommodating both a truck and trailer. Also, we really like having everything on one truck (pump, water, hoses, etc….). It’s funny how each individual market has its own specific trends.
@hokevin5455
@hokevin5455 Жыл бұрын
@@canadianconcretepumper1979 yes. Schwing 4800 is a good choice but might be a little bit tricky because of its different pipe flange and couplings compare to Putzmeister system. I can see mobile pumps are more convenient and efficient for residential projects. I really appreciate your advice. By the way, my name is Kevin. May I know your name please? I feel a Bit of awkward when I am talking to you and don’t know your name.😂😂

We mount them inverted like that to keep them protected from the chutes of the mixer truck when they’re backing on/off the pump. I’ve also heard people say they stay cooler/last longer when mounted “in the concrete” like this, which I don’t really buy because they’re not submerged in the concrete unless the hopper is heaping full.
