Nice blind & review. Another thing to consider is the batch or barrel variance especially with SFTBs. I've had 3 SFTBs which have noticeable diffecences from each other. Same thing with Stagg Jr. batches. The recent 22A batch is really good & my go to. You really can't go wrong with these & theyre all a "snag & back it up" all day at retail.

Great blind! Enjoyed the show. The EHT BP 131.1 is amazing. I bought a backup it was so good. Agree on SFTB. I’ve purchased four different barrels in my journey and only one of them was stellar. Can’t really go wrong with most any batch of Stagg.

We've never had the opportunity to try all 3 of these together to see the nuance between each product. Ranking the 3 of these would definitely be an interesting challenge. Great video, guys!

For me the sftb depends on which barrel. One I have at home is phenomenal. But I’ve tried a few others that aren’t as good. The other two are batches. All three are great products, just difficult to get.

Great video... I generally love all 3 TBH but it really depends on the batch of the Stagg and EHTBP. I picked up my first 13th Colony cask strength, a batch 4, at Kroger today for $81.99.

I have four different batches of Stagg and two different EH Taylor Barrel Proof’s and my Blanton’s STFB blows them out of the water. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Stagg and EH TaylorGuess, but I guess it depends on the barrel you get with the Blanton’s.

Yeah sftb varies so heavily barrel to barrel. I've had some that I've enjoyed better than a gts but then some not so much

This is a very simple blind, just wanted your input. I had never tried these together until the other night, i dud just by chance. I was drinking one and a friend said something about the other one and i was like hey i havent opened that yet lets try it. I thought the 2 were so close that they could be interchanged very easy. The blind is redwood empire pipe dream and ben holladay soft red wheat bottled in bond. Just like to hear your thoughts, i personally really like redwood empire, but couldnt believe how close there were to me, maybe they wont be to you but redwood empire is so under rated

I would like to see you guys blind Barrell batch 27 against some of the Buffalo Trace products. I think it beats some of the Staggs and it has a similar profile.

Choose an allocated bottle and compare the prices from country to country. UK, Australia, Japan etc..

Stagg>EHTBP>SFTB. I'm thankful to have been able to try all three of these a couple of times. The EHTBP might push out Stagg if not for its impossible availability. Stagg is sort of findable, EHTBP is not. SFTB has of course its single barrel variability, so maybe I've just tried a couple sub-par bottles. Who knows. I definitely vastly prefer mash bill #1 however, for all intents and purposes. At higher proof mash bill #1 shines. Around 100 proof, that mash bill #2 is a contender! I have been able to try the Gold a couple times as well, way way better balanced than the SFTB. YMMV. I'm just happy to have been able to try them!

Solid content as always. Modern presidents choice (30 and above) versus older pres choice (1-29) since Zach has a good amount from both. Also revisit a 117 battle with the bib and HAS3 included this time maybe

Mash Bill #1 dominates again. There's nothing in Mash Bill #2 that can compete at Barrel Proof with #1.... however Lower proof (100 or lower) Mash #2 are way more competitive.... ie Rock Hill Farms at 100, Elmer and Blantons at 93... Love to see Rock Hill vs EHT SB, ....Elmer/Blantons vs Eagle Rare/Buffalo Trace to see if that 3 proof makes a difference....

Have you all tried blending your own whiskey from some of your shelfers to see if you could turn something good into something great? I’ve heard OF 10 and OF 20 makes an “OF 15” that is supposedly good. I tried blending Jefferson’s Tropics and Blue Note Juke Joint and I like it better than either product on its own. I think it would be interesting to see if you could come up with some good blends.

Interesting blind. I haven’t opened the EH Taylor barrel proof, yet. I enjoy Stagg Junior and SFTB. To me they taste quite different, but I’d always pick the Stagg Jr. Those are about at the highest level of complexity I can enjoy without taking mental focus away from close friends. Once one of those two are opened… we’re gonna have a lot of laughs and cigars. 😂

We've blinded these before and Straight from the Barrel always tastes too medicinal to my wife and I. We are super sensitive to that flavor though.

Stagg is the only BT bottle I’m looking for. The EHT is just not something that comes to my area and same with SFTB Stagg hits around here a couple times between October and December. Still won’t get one though I don’t camp. But one day I hope to walk in a store and see a bottle and still not get it because it’s overpriced. Just saying.. great job Enjoy!!
