That Karma motor is beautiful I love the simplicity of the head.

I Had scored a handful of these engines off Absolute Hobbies back in 2018 for about $140ea auction style listing. I discovered you could swap the p \s with the plus21 BTT WC p \s and create different powerbands in both engines. The Karma is a square stroke, the BTT engines are long stroke. The Karma piston is larger than the BTT team head. I had a lot of fun with them!!

I had a P5XLT a few years ago. When it was new and under 3 gallons the sleeve came out pretty nicely. At the 6 gallon mark it would not come out. I had to put it in the oven at 300 for 30 mins and it was still a pita to remove. Never had a sleeve that was so hard to remove. Tolerances on Novas are crazy tight.

And as long as the sleeve is fairly easily removable, the tight fit is a good thing. I feel loose sleeve in crankcase fit contributes significantly to early compression loss.

Great vid! Those karma engines are good engines. Decent power and runtime. My opinion the Golden age for Novarossi was pre-death of Ceasare Rossi when there high end engines were priced inline with other brands high end engines ($325-475). After that they were still great engines but you got to wonder why the prices dropped so signifcantly. Just my 2 cents. Keep up the great work.💯🏎💨👍👍

I didn't have an issue with the lower prices lol. The rolling for example, one of their later engines. Had everything but a coated crank, and Novarossi quality for only $250 I wish I would have bought more than one. Did they cut corners somewhere? I don't know. I've thought about engine pricing, I don't really think they should be $400+ the materials are dirt cheap, probably under $5 worth of metal. We're paying for the chrome plating of the sleeve, and for the people operating the machining equipment. They can sell the Trackstar at $59 and be profitable, but it costs $599 for the newest OS Speed. I bet you 50% of that difference is the cost of labor in Taiwan vs. In Japan. The other 50% is us paying OS's advertising budget. Is the OS Speed twice the engine the Trackstar is? I won't argue against that. Is it ten times the engine? I don't think so.

@@NitroTalkwithTodd lol. Im with you, lower pricing is definitely something i like. I agree the prices are absurd when you think about the product your actually getting for money sone brands want. But like they saying goes either way you got to pay to play lol. We either pay up front or we pay on the back end either way we pay to play.

Oh man, like I said in the previous videos this is my favorite motor, I appreciate you putting out to all the videos like you do. It gives me something to listen to or watch while I'm wrenching in my garage on my race. Buggies also a little edit. I meant to say that my karma has the purple head on it. You know with the limited edition and then the karma wrote on it as well. Just like the regular novas came. I haven't seen the silver head one before. And I've ran mine pretty well and it's an amazing motor, especially being square stroke. It is the best. Also where'd you get the sleeve tool from? I seen to use it in another video too. I'm interested in it. I can sure use one. I got the bearing puller and everything else for motors but it's one thing that I haven't procured.

In response to the last thing you said before you ended the video. We or I know why greatly enjoy it as much as people like me who like information about these motors . Who race or are just in the hobby Whichever. It's hard to make videos I tried. I need to get back to it cuz I don't like giving up on things but. You do want to find thing. Trust me plenty of people who are like-minded like us. We'll watch it and appreciate it. It's not for vain

I am confused when you say “post shutdown” engines. I was unaware that Novarossi shipped engines out after the shutdown? Aren’t all Novarossi engines “Pre shutdown”?
