Since I started my exploration of quilt history, I have begun to realize how textiles have shaped the world. Today’s guest is Youngmin Lee, a textile artist from California. And we will be discussing the beautiful Korean art of Bojagi and its similarities and differences with quilting.

Excellent interview as always Karen. Thank you so much for all of the great questions you pose. This one was particularly interesting for me as I have just purchased and watched Youngmin Lee’s series of videos. I also took a Sarah Cook machine Bojagi class online during lockdown here in the UK which was my first introduction to Bojagi. It was such a pleasure to watch and listen to your interview today. I have been making fabric bags for gifts for years. I love this idea. Wrapping paper with certain coatings is not biodegradable so this is good for the planet too!

I really enjoyed this interview on Bojagi. I had heard of it before as I follow Kate from The Last Homely House in the UK. She is a quilter and crafter of many things. She has mentioned your channel so I know that she follows you too. She showed her technique of doing Pojagi (also Bojagi) and I found it to be very interesting and pretty. She has made colorful curtains using this technique. She also had some videos showing how she does Indigo dyeing which is so pretty. If you don’t follow her, I think you would find her very interesting and she brings a slower pace to life which I love. Thank you again for the video. P.S. Youngmin Lee is such a beautiful woman in many ways.

The hallmark of a great interview are the questions posed by the interviewer. You asked so many valuable questions- ones that brought out the story of it all. I was fascinated by the history, and also the astrology of the marriage traditions. The astrology can give a person insight into their strengths and challenges going forward in a relationship.
