Loved the video! My mom and I have been crafters and scrapbookers for years and our absolute favorite go to dry adhesive is the Tombow tape runner. It comes in both permanent and re-positional and it has entirely replaced any other paper-to-paper adhesives for us. I even used to keep one in my backpack just in case teachers ever made us glue something down at school because once you go tape runner you never go back to liquid or glue stick. (also my mom and I have a strange nickname for glue dots: snot dots. 1, it rhymes and, 2, you know they look like boogers)

Aww, spray adhesive. An Art School staple. By the time my class left SCAD there were permanent paper outlines and dedicated signs in most common areas warning against using spray adhesive. Also rubber cement pickup -- amazing. (Random fun fact: My great uncle invented 2-part epoxy during his time working at 3M. Neat, eh?)

One think to mention about wood glue is that it is essentially a stronger, more tacky version of Elmer's glue, so it can be really great to use on mat-board, or paper, or anything you want to dry a little quicker. I use it to build models with mat board and it is tops

Quick super glue tip! If you glue something to your finger (or if you glue your fingers together) you can also mix warm water with soap or laundry detergant and soak your fingers in it for a while to kind of dissolve the glue. Nail polish remover works great but it can be really drying and if you have really sensitive skin it can get all red and itchy.

my relationship with hot glue has been complicated since i was ridiculous enough to let it warm up for about 20 minutes before using it and then tried to apply it to a very small piece of wood that was between my fingers. needless to say, three of my fingers have now experienced hot glue burns, and man, it was worse than i could have ever imagined. don't let your hot glue warm up too long, kids!

You can also use rubber cement by letting both sides dry before pressing them together. Less mess, and a bit re-positionable :) (It's really good if you're trying to be precise with your gluing and need to see drawn guideline or something.)

Yes, Karen, yes. We lovers of adhesives share an unbreakable bond.. :) I have an Amazon wishlist dedicated solely to Adhesives. Thanks for this video! It was informative! I've also heard that Aleene's makes an adhesive called Tack-It Over and Over that you can use to make your own glue dots. Seems pretty economical as you could make thousands with just one bottle. I'm planning on getting some myself mount my own carved stamps :) Keep up the great work!

Do you have any suggestions for a glue to use for mounting and sealing a poster to a canvas? When I was at the craft store, I thought that maybe Mod Podge would work for that, but I wasn't sure if I should use it for both sides, one for gluing and one for sealing or what. Also, a bit of advice from back when I used to paint silly miniature figurines: test your superglue on plastic before applying it. Lots of plastics are just fine for use with superglue, but some superglues will start to dissolve some plastics (and if your fingers are getting warm, you've glued them to whatever you're working on).

Yeah if u wanna glue pieces of acrylic together U can use liquid solvent cement. It looks like paint thinner kinda. It's apparently really bad to get on UR hands so we had to use these syringes things when we were using it. U just put the two pieces of acrylic together where U want then joined and then syringe the liquid solvent cement along that line. Or if u want two on top of each other instead of like at an angle then just put it on the bottom one then place the other on top. There's a bit of wiggle room here but not for long, U need to get it in exactly the right position very quickly or there's no undoing it. I'm fairly sure it's like an acid or something because it does leave a bit of a stain on the acrylic when U look at it in the light

You didn't mention any repositionable glues/adhesives. There's a spray adhesive for quilting that is also great for Scan N' Cut, Cricut & other cutting machine mats, to hold your paper, leather, foam, vinyl sheeting, etc. down to your cutting mats, so you don't have to buy a new mat just because the adhesive isn't tacky any more! There is also adhesive remover, that is awesome if you need yo clean off the same mats to re-apply a clean layer of repositionable adhesive, such as the quilting adhesive spray (similar to what you use for stencils! I'm going to have to try that! TY!) Really great video on glues & adhesives! Anything for glass to canvas, wood, etc.? Gorilla makes some great stuff for that! There's also thick mediums used as adhesive & for texture on canvas that works well for multimedia too! Oh! and pastes! Yes! there are a LOT of adhesives/glues! Oh! mounting spray adhesives for photo mounting onto foam core or boards, and specialty things like framing! You can make "blocks" out of watercolor paper with hot glue guns too! Just a little dab on the edge of the pad, or stack of loose paper! (use sparingly, or you might have to heat or use an exacto knife to separate you paper after painting on it! (a small dab on each side of low of multi-temp hot glue works well!) OMG, SOOO many adhesives!!! I'm off to watch you tapes video now! Anu aluminum tape in there??? Oh! I forgot PVC pipe glue! It REALLY, REALLY stinks, so use out doors, but for connecting pipe parts, there's nothing better, and it's water proof too! The blue type is best, so you can make sure you are sealing everything! (necessary when building fountains for either indoors or the bigger, or full-sizes for outdoors! (There's also solders for glass too!) and the copper tape needed for soldering (+ don't forget the flux & a really high-watt (250+ watt) temperature-controlled soldering iron... I'm not sure if that's really considered an adhesive, but it is necessary for stained glass! E6000 is the best, IMHO, for putting findings & wires onto crystals, ground stones & glass (jewelry) so you don't loose them! It's clear & really inexpensive insurance!

Danger! Lots of people are allergic to nail polish remover when it gets on their skin. I know that it gives me a really bad rash. Besides that, it's really harsh even if you're not allergic to it. I would recommend that if you get superglue on yourself to immediately try and wash it off with warm soapy water, but I know that's not always possible if you're tryna glue something together. I usually just suck it up and deal with having glue left on my hands for a couple weeks. Very informational video though! I have never heard of plastic glue before...

I've seen felt glue at Michaels before. I'm not sure exactly what the difference between that and fabric glue would be. But I should probably buy some. I often crochet plush animals/figures and use felt for facial features but I usually glue them on with hot glue which probably isn't be best for felt and the heat probably isn't good for the acrylic in the yarn. For paper I like Elmers clear glue. I am kinda clumsy so clear glue leaves less visible mess. Also I'm surprised you didn't mention puzzle glue lol. Although I guess it probably doesnt have many other useful applications.
