Leila is one of the most interesting characters I’ve seen in teen tv in a long ass time

@@nhyirankansah Also Leila's parents are racist to Asians. Which is really ironic and hypocritical that they adopted an Asian baby girl, but are bigots to other Asians. There a scene where Leila and her adopted mom are out and they walk past an elder Asian lady and Leila's mother made it seem like she didn't see the woman or that she was in the way, but really she DID see her and that Leila's mother was the one in the other woman's way.

@@nhyirankansah Also Sid was the one who put Leila on that sexist perverted list that his friends made. That was never brought up again and I don't understand why he did that.

he was given an ultimatum. give a name for the list or they (george and luke) would put his sister on the list. in his mind he was protecting his sister.

i always hated leila, but when i rewatched i realized i was so similar to her when i was a freshman. her character makes a lot of sense and it helped that the actress was amazing as well.

I made the mistake of starting and finishing the entire season yesterday, only to find that it got canceled! Such a beautiful piece of work yet we have shows like Riverdale with 5 seasons smh

The symbolism was so well interpreted like I still couldn’t understand Leila cartoons at the end and joey’s clothing never even crossed my mind

If the 5 mains teamed up they could get a lot done. My idea for a season 2 ep would be expanding owens school to prison pipeline storyline where he starts commiting crimes in the 2nd episode the 5 mains come together for an ep and help him cover up his last crime,and then in the s2 finale the police would find out and question if joey was really SA'ed because she was so good at lying.

i like it but idk of i’d want them to cover up owen’s crime, because i don’t want it to be too Elité-ish. but i really love this concept!!

Just randomly thought about this show, after watching it about a year ago. I’m genuinely depressed that we can’t get another season. Really was a good show I would put it above euphoria.

i really loved your video! also it really pisses me off that the show doesn’t get enough recognition as it needs. i mean it’s one of the most relatable show about teens i’ve ever seen

I hateee leila but I love her character it's obvious she hasn't had redemption which means they will drag her story out and she might go through more and become a better character at one point

Such an inciteful analysis, the show is so artful in the way it portrays realistic problems that afflict teenagers in all demographics. The writer is so smart and empathetic in the way she wrote them. I was livid when I found out it was cancelled

I really enjoyed your review. I will say Laila is annoying and was a bit dull but I got the vibes that TeeNoir got. It felt like she was having a mental health crisis (BPD maybe? I don't want to stereotype but the breaking of reality via cartoons was very telling). That does feel heavy to me. But, Idk if that's the direction the writers are taking, so. Edit: Got to the end of your video and I like your interpretation!

@@nhyirankansah it actually did, especially the part where he says "you're my son I know you better than everyone" thats what every desi parent who DOESN'T know their child says lol. I think the background music and camera angles made the hindi scenes awkward but they weren't that bad
