Hi Brian! As a young girl, I lived in Saugus till 1969! I didn't know you had a KZfaq channel and have now subscribed. Thanks for doing this video. I've sewn since I was a teenager and learned on the light green Singer circa mid 1950s, then a Kenmore, now a Baby Lock Cresendo. I strictly quilt. No garments for me! 😂 I didn't know about your channel and I'm looking forward to catching up. Thanks Katen for this interview!

I bought my Singer Featherweight (used) from a Singer Sewing Shop in Fayetteville, NC, (while I was in the Women's Army Corps, back in the 1960's). The machine and its storage case fit inside my wall locker. I name that machine Sergeant because we were in the Army together. She paid for herself in no time. I sewed on patches and did repairs in my free time.

I've used Sewing Parts Online just recently to complete the machines I bought to teach my grandkids how to sew. (Eight sew-ers in two classes on Saturdays) We bought old machines for $10 and $20, and then just purchased the parts through SPO for really reasonable prices. They make it such an easy process compared to what it used to be!
